At one point yesterday in the first half he had the ball on the edge of the 18 yard box, twisted, looked up and saw Aguero busting a gut, unmarked and in a perfect position to score before twisting back and firing a hopeful shot at the keeper. He should have laid it off. That sort of thing happened a few times. However, he was desperately unlucky a number of times and on another day would have scored.
I don't think it's a coincidence that we scored a couple of goals within minutes of him being substituted though.
Following his antics of last Christmas when he was by far the best player on our books and subsequently tried to hold the club to ransom with a written transfer request, I have never forgiven him (or his agent). Now that times have changed and I think he'd struggle to make our starting 11, I would have no sympathy whatsoever if he had to spend the season watching from the sidelines.
I have no idea what 'assurances' he has had and reffered to last winter but Tevez doesn't strike me as the sort of player who would be happy on the bench. I would hope that Mancini deals with him in a professional manner because whilst everything seems to be perfect at the moment, I can't help but think that until the Tevez situation is resolved, it'll come back to bite us on the arse.
AJ did the same thing on more than two occassions. Picking on Tevez tbh just highlights that you haven't got over the 'saga'. He was rusty but so were others. He is an asset that Bob has available, he is good. It would be foolish to take the hump and not use that asset. He can win games in the thick of it, don't forget that. City have moved on, we don't 'need' him and life is better all round for it. The Tevez saga is over.
I've got to correct this here: ALL OF TEVEZ' BEST PLAY BARRING THE RUN FOR THE GOAL CAME AFTER THE PENALTY MISS.
The backheel, the ball for Richrds, the flick over the top for Milner; all after the pen miss. If we're getting into details of individual plays & criticising, it's unfair not to get it right.
