At one point yesterday in the first half he had the ball on the edge of the 18 yard box, twisted, looked up and saw Aguero busting a gut, unmarked and in a perfect position to score before twisting back and firing a hopeful shot at the keeper. He should have laid it off. That sort of thing happened a few times. However, he was desperately unlucky a number of times and on another day would have scored.
I don't think it's a coincidence that we scored a couple of goals within minutes of him being substituted though.

Following his antics of last Christmas when he was by far the best player on our books and subsequently tried to hold the club to ransom with a written transfer request, I have never forgiven him (or his agent). Now that times have changed and I think he'd struggle to make our starting 11, I would have no sympathy whatsoever if he had to spend the season watching from the sidelines.

I have no idea what 'assurances' he has had and reffered to last winter but Tevez doesn't strike me as the sort of player who would be happy on the bench. I would hope that Mancini deals with him in a professional manner because whilst everything seems to be perfect at the moment, I can't help but think that until the Tevez situation is resolved, it'll come back to bite us on the arse.

AJ did the same thing on more than two occassions. Picking on Tevez tbh just highlights that you haven't got over the 'saga'. He was rusty but so were others. He is an asset that Bob has available, he is good. It would be foolish to take the hump and not use that asset. He can win games in the thick of it, don't forget that. City have moved on, we don't 'need' him and life is better all round for it. The Tevez saga is over.

I've got to correct this here: ALL OF TEVEZ' BEST PLAY BARRING THE RUN FOR THE GOAL CAME AFTER THE PENALTY MISS.

The backheel, the ball for Richrds, the flick over the top for Milner; all after the pen miss. If we're getting into details of individual plays & criticising, it's unfair not to get it right.

Exactly, the ball through to Micah was a peach as was the ball to Milner which very nearly came off. He also did brillaintly in the build up for our goal. He was always lively and making things happen.

Sorry mate but the Tevez saga isn't over. Let's not kid ourselves into thinking that he wouldn't rather be somewhere else just because nobody came in to buy him. I'm happy to have him in the squad but can't help but believe that he's a loose cannon and a prima-donna. I'm afraid that the Tevez saga won't be over until someone buys him.

tbh, i hate the little fucker, and the fact that he insisted on taking YET ANOTHER penalty he didn't earn really says it all for me. This is especially true considering (1) he is and always has been complete shite at taking penalties; (2) he knew he was lacking the match sharpness one should have to take a pen; and (3) only a month ago, he badly fucked that crucial pen for the argies in copa america.

BUT....all that said, he did have some nice touches yesterday. he has the technical skill to fit in with our new style and help us win games. if he plays hard and keeps his mouth shut, we should get our money's worth out of him until he finally fucks off for good.

I'm sorry but since when did the guy who won the penalty automatically take it? What if Lescott wins one? Should he take it.
Every team has a designated penalty taker and Tevez is ours and that is Mancini's choice. He still has a good record for us.

it made sense for tevez to be our pen taker when he played as lone striker. we have better options now. are you seriously suggesting he should take them over aguero?? fuck me i will never understand these tevez lovers.

We should have a new penalty taker though. There must be a better penalty taker in the squad/team because Tevez has missed his fair share. I want a penalty taker who instills confidence when he steps up. Tevez no longer does that. We need what's best for the team and not for Tevez.

This is utter fucking nonsense. You don't just change the penalty taker on a whim. If Tevez keeps taking shit pens, he'll be replaced, otherwise it's his job when he's on the pitch. How many pens has Aguero scored ?

it's anyone's guess whether mancini has made him the designated pen taker this year, particularly when our other strikers are on the pitch. if the pen had occurred after aguero's 2nd yesterday, i have no doubt tevez would still have insisted on taking it, the greedy cunt.

an i agree with the most of the thing u say , he is a man who must be in centar of the game but also he is a good player and city have so much games this season that we can use him but there is one problem that i m afred off he will not peacfol substitute and i think that city taken ewrything that is hapend araund him shud sell him next season or change for some good player that team needs but if by some mirecle he chenge atitude and become more team player then it will be perfect to hav that kind player for backup even for first 11 if sombody get injurd or drop form only problem is the show abaut him...

Then if Tevez is off the pitch, or misses again, he should be the penalty taker with Balotelli as the option when neither are available, as he's also been very successful in the prem.

Thought Tevez had a splendid game. He combined well with the other strikers and did some great things, his ball for Richards was exceptional. He fitted in very well.
Yes it was a shit penno but he is our penalty taker at the mo, maybe that will change.
And he did a fine job for a long time from the spot.

No idea but you don't just change the pen taker unless he starts to miss regularly for the club, no matter who is waiting in the wings.

Reading some of the comments it's quite clear to see people are harbouring some discontent where Carlos is concerned, even to the lengths that they will make up wild stuff in an attempt to discredit what was actually a decent first performance. My view is, if you hate the fucker then tell us you hate him for smashing your granny's back doors in, but at least post reasoned stuff when it's got to do with his on-field play. You know it makes sense.

PS. I'm a Carlos Licker and have no qualms in criticising him when required, just like any other player out there in the shirt.

PPS. AJ was really shit yesterday, but I'll put that down to it being his 1st full game also.
