Line up v Napoli

Line up v Napoli

Postby brite blu sky » Sun Sep 04, 2011 11:23 am

Who do you think will get chosen for the CL opener?

With no real pattern to team selection yet emerging and it being a few days after Wigan, I'm thinking it wont be so easy second guessing Mancini's selection.

Will he go with the safer option of DeJong? - i think he will, and he might be right to look for the result first over any spectacular win.

So for me would be the usual suspects, Hart, Kompany, DeJong, Barry, Silva and now probably Dzeko. Together with Lescott that would be the spine. The rest would depend on Bob's game plan. Obviously the fullbacks - Micah and Clichy ?

That would leave space for two more attacking players.. Aguero and Nasri ? Milner and AJ ? or half half with Yaya and one other.

Obviously who starts in the Wigan game will offer some clues, but until then it looks like anyone's guess.

Should we be more all out v Napoli or look for a solid display and keep our cards close to our chest while getting our feet on the ground?

The more interesting question is who will be picked for the Wigan game, as he will want to rest as many of the players he wants to use on tuesday as possible!

I think that we will see a weakened side vs Wigan (maybe Tevez to start?) and a topped side vs Napoli:-)

Made me chuckle this..
Weekened side with Tevez in it !!!!! weve come along way..

i too think Tevez will start on sat against Wigan. He needs some game time and also Dzeko and Kun will have played 2 games in a week.

I don't think they'll let us field a Toyota at rightback.

Mancini still knows he needs Silva to start against Wigan, we were lucky to scrape past them at home last year, it's early days and he won't make that many changes for the Prem I'm sure

Hehe, yeah.. Did not mean Tevez is a weaker player per se. But he is in weaker form.

Has Substituted goals for steaks for too long so as of now he is the weaker option, esp. Since our team has looked alot more dynamic and less onemanshow'ish without him. But if form finds him and his movement don't restrict the flow of our game then he can fast become the first option.

Personally I like dzeko better, and like our layout better with a target striker instead of one dropping into midfield.

Well after the Wigan game I'm still left without a real clue who could be playing. Hart Komps and Lescott ok fine, Dzeko for sure easy, Silva has to play surely. Nige is out and Barry may be too but if he is fit i rekon he will play. So then Yaya keeps his role deep and then it is which FBs.. both put a stint in v Wigan, so Zabba and Kolarov would be just as good or thereabouts. That leaves 2 more places between Nasri, Aguero, Milner, Tevez, Mario, AJ.

I'd go for Nasri's experience and Aguero again. If we get ahead early enough put Milner on for Barry and Mario for Aguero.

My team would be Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Milner, Yaya, Aguero, Nasri, Silva, Dzeko

Think Bob might go for different fullbacks though, and surely prefers Barry to Milner.

Balotelli is suspended from the red card vs Dynamo Kiev in UEFA last season.

tevez dzeko
silva nasri
yaya milner(barry if available)
kolarov komps toure zaba
hart

aguero as a super sub.and i think mancini will use silva too as a super sub
remember he used nasri as a sub whenever he came against wigan it changed the game.i think this time it will be silva doing as nasri in wigans game
kolarov coz he once played in italy and knows their game
saying that i think mancini will use the trio of yaya milner and barry and midfield 3 if barry is available

Injurys allowing I imagine he'll go with the starting 11 from Spurs, possibly with Micah starting instead

Last I heard DeJong had some sort of cast on his foot. Is he back? I sincerely hope Barry is fit at least because Saturday gave cause for concern in the deep midfield.
