The one annoying thing is United don't look like going anywhere. I'd rather focus on overtaking them first. then we can look to Barca.

Do you think we can one day be a better team than barca?

Please just answer the question... Please!!!!! Has the whole fucking world gone crazy since i was last ob here??

Argh!!!!

I think we're better than Barca already mate and that's why I said that we're turning into a combo of Barca Galactico's. And that's without my BTS, honest.

I think you are right we are at Barça level now and think if we played them we would win. However I think this year Jose's,Real will overtake them and we are not far of their level either.
I think RM in La Liga and us in the prem are gonna take it to a higher level. In my dreams anyway.

Would we bollocks. Lionel Messi. Enough said. Imagine him against our defense.

If you have watched barca enough to have seen Messi played out of the game then you will know that it is possible.

brf you seem to have stars in your eyes concerning barca, Messi, Iniesta and Xavi.

currently we are the english version of barcelona.
to play in the premierleague we should have the physical presence .so barry comes to play in the first team .that means one of the type xavi and iniesta should be on bench.another a physical striker.so dzeko is beter than villa in premier league.
i think our first team is like barca nad second team like real madrid.we have balo as ronaldo johnson as di maria, milner as ozil de jong pepe,oh diarra.
its not the quality same to them but near to them,at least young and have potential.
remember we got nasri in second place of fabregas, aguero of sanchez.

Nasri is a different player to Fabregas & imo Aguero is a miles better player than Sanchez. Messi is out on his own & the pairing of Xavi & Iniesta is the best BUT Silva, Aguero, Tevez, Nasri & now Dzeko all have something in their own right which is different to, but comparable with what Barca have to offer. Barca have their style ingrained into their team & we are a new team. That is their big advantage at the moment imo, not the standard of player apart from Messi. I think our attack has the potential to be better than theirs, much better, apart from one exception..

Messi of course is a different kettle of fish entirely. So long as they have him, they have 12 players rather than 11 so the team which beats them has to play that much better. It's achievable that someone can get to that standard though. Football evolves.

I just think comparing us to Barcelona after just 4 games is silly and naive. One step at a time. We first have to focus on becoming better than the rags. Yes we have better individual players but that was also the case last season. I've yet to see how we'll react when we're up against it or go a goal down.

The rags are aiming at & comparing themselves to Barca. Absolutely no doubt about that; they want to up their game & reach that standard, quickly. We have a stronger squad than them but we're not allowed to aim as high ? Totally the wrong attiude imo. That's the old, inferior, City loser attitude.

We're not aiming to catch the rags, we're aiming to hare past them & catch Barca. If not, we may as well pack up; we'll never have a better chance to try & bridge that gap. If we can't aim for that now, then we are wasting our time as it's unlikely we'll ever have a significantly better squad than this.

Agreed.

Given time for all of our players to develop an even better understanding of each other's game (especially our forwards and by fuck they already look good) then there's no reason whatsoever to suggest we can't catch Barca. This time next season and we'll be just as feared as they are, if all goes according to plan.

I can even see us gaining sufficient confidence to start defending the half way line just as they do too.

The thing is that Dzeko wasn't shit last year. He had good contributions and just lacked the final touch. But there was still moments of him dribbling by 2-3 people, just like this year. Some people can only see the world in black/white; either shit or amazing.

Losers attitude.

We are the richest team in the world and are currently playing Barcelonesque football....therefore it stands to reason to keep it that standard up.

Sorry lads if i'm being a negative cunt! I've just seen us in the past promise so much and deliver so little. Which is why my feet are very much on the ground.

It's not a case of us already being Barca now & thinking we've got everything sussed. Rather than looking at the genuine possibility that we can become as good or better than them. Imo, whatever setbacks may occur, we've made a quite big jump down that road.

At the top level of football teams get found out when they are heavily analysed.
Wigan had three games to analyze our play Spurs two etc. Barcelona have had their game analysed for several years by the top coaches and still win the same way. If we are getrting the same convincing wins later on in the season against the top teams comparisons with Barcelona etc may become a bit more valid. Untill then I am loving the ride and enjoying the anticipation of how good we may become but comparisons with one of the top teams the world has seen strike me as very premature.

I've a pain in my fucking arse with some of the absolute fucking idiots in this thread. The question is can we become a better side than the barca.

The answer is of course we can. The rest of you with your silly bollox of "we're not there yet" "I want to keep my feet on the ground" "how can we be compared to barca"....

THAT'S NOT WHAT WAS FUCKING SAID.

Of course the richest club in the world can emulate the one that is currently the best.

Have a bit of fucking cop on you tools.

Our day will come.

Actually, last May I rember telling anyone who'd listen that we'd have given Barca a better game than whatstheirnames.

If we could get at their defense we would tear it apart. Mind you, we'd have to have the ball. They are adept at keeping the ball and winning it back quickly before the defense comes under pressure. In attack, they don't have big forwards so crosses are less of a problem. Imagine a box the width of the penalty area and the height of about 25 yards with its base on the 5 yard box. Stop them going through there and you have a good chance of stopping them score. At least that's what teams who have had any joy against them have done.

Simple really
"You sir, will either be hung as a traitor or die of the pox"
"That sir, depends on whether I embrace your principles or your mistress"
