Seems (IMHO) either self-indulgent, deliberately mischeivous or something like that - cannot see how the timing is anything intended to be positive about CITY in the way the OP tries to present it
Whatever gets you get your kicks I guess.....
wtf are you on about?
What is the purpose of the forum? Whats wrong with startin any kind of topic on any kind of day?
Imagine its monday asswipe.
I think I said in very reasonable terms what I suspect a lot of posters are thinking when they read your OP
If the suspicion was not well founded then I would have expected that you might have thought something along the lines of "..oh yeah - not the brightest thing to do today.........", but the way your responses to me and others are worded would only cements this suspicion (of course only IMO).
So I will not go further into detail as if I am right this will only provide more satisfaction over what was intended (again only IMO)
Hmm, well I might over reacted.
Even so, what was the purpose of your post?
instead of questioning my intentions and motives, you could have tried to be constructive and contribute to the topic with your own humble opinion.
go join a political party.
Ok :-
1/ Hindsight is as they say 20/20 - so anyone using it can position themselves to be very very right at this moment, because:
2/ Everyone - no matter their position in December 2009 must be very very happy and concur with you that (irrespective of the issues at the time) the decision has proven to be the right one. We are where we are and no matter how things could look very different if the scum had scored early on in the semi or the Arse had not imploded - that is all in the past so why not just rejoice, especially because:
3/ We have moved on again and the squad, with only a few additions, now clicks together like a complete jigsaw - with double pieces in case any get lost, which has led to:
4/ The majority of our detractors having to wave the white flag and even reluctantly seek to crawl onto the bandwagon (I hope Vicky K has kept full detail of previous transgressions and fucks a few of them off), and:
5/ The wave of positivity is so large that if we continue to be successful on the field it may just become the tsunami level that will cement us into the elite fuckers club that are protected by FFP and more generally UeFA - as sickeningly corrupt as that is - it is better to be within than without.
But for me these are likely all statements of the bleeding obvious based on the 20/20 here and now and the types of things that we should just be focussing on now because (as has been mentioned elsewhere) there is no better time to be a blue. I do not see the benefit of focussing on them in a negative manner, i.e. by dragging up all the bitterness and contention that was present in the 2009 period. This may not have been your intention?, but it could have been an outcome for which surely there is no benefit today of all days - which was my point.
FWTW, I think my position was typical of many of those that were not 'rabid-anti' Hughes. We were not so much pro-Hughes as pro-stability having seen CITY continuously ravaged by ill-thought through change after change. So all those of my persuasion were then quickly behind the new CITY manager, Mancini, as we were behind previous CITY managers simply because they were the managers of the club we love. We may have thought in the early months - is this going to work out any better than Hughes?. We also will have been robust in our defence of Mancini because we are pro-stability.
Some might think that Hughes might have succeeded had he been allowed to continue - others will not and will think Mancini was always 'God in waiting', my personal view (once the decision to make a change was made) is thank fuck it has worked out (in the end because it was not always on track) because:
1/ there is now no better time to be a CITY fan and this 'new dawn' looks like the real thing and
2/ this closes the door to that self-obsessed twat Jose taking over - thank fuck!!
So lets rejoice - but I would suggest in a way that celebrates going forward rather on that drags up past recriminations - this is what I(obviously mistakenly) thought would be a likely outcome of your OP - so if there was no intention to rubbish Hughes and start that old dialogue off again etc - then apols
