Lescott's againt Bolton last season. Think it was the last game of the season actually. It was brilliant and still makes me laugh whenever I watch it now. Just hits him on the side of the head and goes in. His face cracks me up - he has no idea what just happened and his little grin when everyone comes and hugs him xD

Another one that comes to mind is The Goats marvellous shinned volley against Charlton, in a 1-1 draw in March 2000. The commontator was raving about the class of the finish yet on replay you can see its a total shinner, classic Goat.

Haha, nice thread.
I have two goals in my mind: The first one is a beautiful strike past the keeper, by Huckerby in a 4-1 lost with Charlton. If i remember well they had 4-0 on Maine Road. It was a cold december day.
The second one is the goal that Superman scored at Hull in 2008. Great, great strike.

Shauny Wright to put us 4-1 up against Arsenal, the atmosphere that game was electric.

SWP jinxing run against Villa in Pearce's 3rd or so game! Picked up it up on the toucline line on half way, seemed to just drop a shoulder beat two men and score!

Also loved him chipping Flowers against Coventry in 2001 and his re-debut chip against Sunderland!

Also from the Villa game Kiki Musampa's volley! I was right behind it from about 80 yards, lovely goal

also his run and goal against Boro at home on the last day

Ali Benarbia's diving header from an Anelka (?) cross against Aston Villa on Boxing Day to make it 3-1, got up and jumped into the Platt Lane.

Portsmouth away in the season we were promoted under Keegan.

Goater passes to Benarbia.

Benarbia then CHIPS a backheel to Goater.

Goater hits it on the volley straight into the bottom corner.

If we were in the Prem that season, it would have been goal of the season. Just pure brilliance. Watching a player chip a backheel is unbelievable, an incredible piece of skill.

Just remembered. Robinho vs Arsenal. One of the best goals I've ever seen from one of the best players. The skill to chip it so elegantly and make it look so easy. Wow.

Two come to mind. Micah's last minute header at Villa, and a really old one, Colin Bell at Stamford Bridge about 71-72. Curled it in from the byeline.

Not really related to the thread (because it was actually a very significant goal), but just because I had never seen it until today...

Mike Doyle scores at the stretford end from the most amazing cross ever completed. I wasn't around to see Colin Bell in action and there are f-all clips of him on youtube so I really enjoy seeing gems like this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOEDiBNPu00

It's about 1.30 in.

The clip itself is an interview with Big Mal and Jimmy Hill after Best assaulted Glyn Pardoe. Mal retaining compsoure despite Hill's wind-up questioning.

Onuoha's goal against Birmingham springs to mind - we won 5-1 that day, Nedum picked the ball up in defence, broke inside, passed the ball forward into space and ran on to his own through ball to slot it home.

Michel Vonk's screamer in the called-off-at-half-time-you-fucking-red-bastard-courtney match v ipswich. A corker, especially seeing as it was in fact Michel Vonk rather than a real footballer who did it. ;-)
