TheGOAT wrote:Just watched it again... think Kolo's right foot just plays him onside, but it is very close, probably as close as it gets to being onside. Still it wasn't even mentioned at all on any tv coverage!
...i dont get why someone said it was Barry's fault

Barry is the first man defending the free kick. He is watching the ball when he should be less square on to enable him to see both the ball AND the Bayern forward, then he would have been able to take that extra step forward to stop the flick on.
TheGOAT wrote:It was just a good freekick! You can't expect Barry to anticipate EXACTLY where the delivery is going to be, thats just rediculous! If the blame is anyones it is Kolo Toure's for concentrating to hard on his man and not reacting to the save, but as i say he was so close to being offside he might not have got to it first anyway.

Sorry but it's basic defending from that kind of free kick. You CAN expect Barry to anticipate the zone where the delivery might be made to - he didn't, and more to the point. he didn't give himself a chance to do so.

Due to consuming too many of these, the fat cunt.

Wonderwall wrote:I have seen it 3 or 4 times and it was off side on each occasion in my opinion, the attacker had hes head ahead of the line of defense and that is Offside in anyones rules

I agree I said this on the night and have also reviewed it many times since. It definitely appears 100% offside!
Problem is the usual camera view along the line wasnt used.
Having said that it doesnt matter now. Ditto with the two penalty appeals. I dont expect as high standard of refereeing in CL as we get in the PL.
