Unlucky Bosnia. Good effort. Would have caused England lots of problems playing like that; glad we weren't playing them. Defensively, not very good though & that's why France managed a point. It was an awful bit of defending for the penalty & left the ref with an easy decision; you just can't stick your leg out backwards like that & get away with it. That's where they needed to hold their nerve & couldn't quite manage it.

If they can keep up that level, they have a good chance of getting through though.

The bosnians were unlucky, maybe they started defending too soon, otherwise who knows. I really think is sad that a team that starts to look good, like the new France that Blank is building will have another dubious moment in their qualifications.
In other news, am i the only one that think that this isn''t normal that we have seeding teams even for the playoffs? I mean, if Estonia got so far, why the hell can't they face Montenegro instead of Portugal or Czech Republic? I would be more interesting imho.

If they are seeded, then this is something that should have been decided beforehand. Can't really complain if you know the rules are there. I think Ireland were the most screwed nation on this seeding when it was decided after the teams in the playoffs were known and there was a real possibility France would not have made the World Cup.

As to whether they should be seeded or not, it all comes down to the intention behind it. The reasoning that you want the tournament to have the best on show and you really don't want to hand a walk in the group stages to any team is not completely without merit. However, I don't think anyone was fooled when it was announced they would be seeded that the only intention behind it was to ensure France made the finals and facing Russia there was a real possibility they wouldn't have.

We have had a seeded draw from before the qualification kicked off, I remember one of the Irish players complaining about a seeded 2nd place draw maybe a year ago.. it wasn't a last minute thing. But if Bosnia can't get beat someone like Czech Republic or Portugal then too bad you don't deserve to be there.

international weekends are the worst.. The thought that I couldn't stay up on a saturday night and watch some premier league was heartbreaking, then usually there is some controversy from the weekends games that you can talk about and it makes sunday morning a lot more dull if i can't look at the scores from around europe.

Did you understand a word of what i've just said, mate? If no, read it again.

We have Turkey, Ireland, Estonia, Bosnia, Croatia, Montenegro, Portugal, Czech Republic so far and normally the seeded teams will be: Turkey, Croatia, Portugal, Czech Rep. (imho the last two will get Montenegro and Estonia).

Btw, there will be again a international break in november for these games and for other international friendlies. (the week after the game we have in Villareal).

according to wiki Ireland is seeded and Turkey is not.. but it seems a bit odd to me.. Here is confirmation of the seeded and unseeded teams for the playoffs from uefa's website
