Who Is/Can Be Our Next City Legend?

Do you think any of the current squad are, or can become, worthy of being talked about with the same reverence as Bell, Young, Lee & Summerbee?

Teams that play great football and win things become legends.

Bell, Lee, Summerbee,Young aren't the only players from that era who have legend status in my eyes.

not yet, but Vince, Nigel are pretty close. Hope Silva stays long enough.

I agree that there have been other City Legends since those days, but can any of the current squad reach the same level of legendaryism* as those mentioned.

That's the point I was trying to make KK. If this team wins trophies while playing decent football they'll all have a shot at 'legendaryism'. Some stand out more than others of course.

It's a shame we're not updating the Hall of Fame. Last inductee was Goater.

the average time with City of our Hall of Fame members is 11 years.
recent exceptions are Quinny, the Goat and Rosler who all had 6 years or less.

To join that crowd is going to take the current lot a while, whatever we win, (and some just don't have time)
Micah, at 9 years, our longest serving player could end up having a great City career worthy of Hall of fame status
Joe could end up being talked of in the same breath as Swift and Trautman
It'll depend on management settling on certain players for the long term, but there are a few young enough and good enough to become legends
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

If it was this time last year we'd all be saying tevez without a doubt so you just don't know what lies ahead when contracts/money/relationships are put on the line...

That said the most likely candidate is kompany. Without a doubt. I think he'll stay until someone tells him he has to go.

Bobby for me if we win more stuff.
Players, if Micah stays, till he is past his 30's he will be a legend for me.
That would basically make him a 1 club man and in this era I think that would be quite something.

David silva is the best player ever to wear the shirt. He would run circles round any of the OP's examples and only needs to put in a few years of service winning a few more trophies along the way and he is a legend.

Aguero is so talented and young that he is the same as silva in all he needs to do is carry on playing for city and he is there.

Kompany is youngish and could easily be our, This comparison feels disgusting, wio in a few more years but with ALOT more class.

Bobby can go on to be the most important an succesful manager we have ever had and all he needs to do is stick around and keep up the good work.

All 4 of them just need to keep up what they have been doing and soon enough it won't just be city fans talking about them but every commentator, pundit, journo and fan in england as some of the best in the game and that's what makes a legend.

Then there is balotelli who i think will be a different kind of legend along the lines of candyman and the white lady. Kids will tell ghost stories about the crazy bastard.

The way some idiots on here label players legends it could very well be the next signing within 18 months of him playing for us.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Zaba.
He is the type of player that loves the club, that will rather broke his leg before an opponent can score.

In the modern day its hard to have legends as so many players come and go these days its hard to become a legend in a short period of time. One min you can be a legend the next a villan eg Tevez, id like to see a legend be at the club a min of 5 years before they can be considered. Silva has potential, as do Nigel and Kompany. Would love to see Hart and Richards stay for there careers that alone would make them legends in my eyes.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
