What's the letter of the law here? I know that if you take your shirt off it's a yellow - but what was it for in this case? I'm sure players pull shirts over their heads in celebration all the time and avoid bookings.

Reading that, Mario didn't break any rules.

In fact, the referee broke the rules by failing to use common sense!

I do not want to start a new thread and seeing as this thread seems to be a little bit related to 'Derby souveniers' I will ask a favour here..........

I have a summerhouse at the bottom of my garden which is essentially a CITY shrine with lots of stuff on the walls to make CITY fans that come to my place to watch football feel right at home.

I have a space (just up from my signed Bert Trautman shirt) for a really good picture to be enlarged an put in a frame. I would love to use this to be either someing iconic from the cup final or from the Derby - I get a few scum fans around as well and it would be a good reminder.

So if any one has seen a photo that they think really would 'capture the moment/mood' I would be grateful for a link - thanks

Were you at the final? If so, I think there's a high-def panorama out there somewhere, where you can type in your seat number, and get a close up of you. Not sure whether this would float your boat?

I would recommend getting a high resolution still image of Yaya shaping up to hit the ball for the winner (in the semi) - he gets all of his considerable weight behind it and it's a beautiful sight just before he pulls the trigger.

I'm always on the hunt for high-res images - whenever I find them I download to a folder on my computer.

Here's some links I've found recently - be warned some of these are pretty big - nearly all would hold up to being printed large format:

(This is the tilt-shift image that's been used a lot - not as good as some but best quality version I could find)

From all those pictures the one that stands out the most to me is the one with Milner and Yaya with their arms around each other. It wasn't so long ago stories were flying around that they came to blows in the tunnel.

Following City from the States, it was hard to watch Mario embarrass himself against Los Angeles.....I was worried about the guy. But when he is focused , as he was sunday.....he is an amazing player who I really think could become a legend. His heel pass was brilliant, as was his strike to crack the game open.

Love the shirt, love the hair....keep scoring goals and making smart plays, and entertaining me wont be a problem !

I seem to remember Tevez pulling up his shirt last year reveal a message wishing his mother happy birthday and didn't get booked. And I also seem to think how is what Mario did any different from Tevez pulling out his Argentina shin guards and not get booked? I also don't think the shirt was the least bit taking a piss out of the scum. So either the ref just gave it on reputation or letter of the law with the head covering. I mean look Neymar got sent off a while back for putting on a mask he grabbed out of the crowd.

Regardless it was well worth it (especially since he didn't get sent off).

I think i'll bastardise Warren Zevons "Weirwolves of London" to make up a song to sing about Mario, the kid is class. This "non celebration thing" must be doing all the marketing and BS men's heads in and all the opposition fans heads in.
