I expect them to have a good go on Wednesday, and Saturday obviously. But i imagine we may face a similar team in both games.

In short. Wolves SHOULD be fucked.

Id like to see Hargreaves start, Savic, Panty, Kolo, AJ, Nasri... but i can also see us resting a few again for Saturday and maybe seeing some rotation players get a run out both tomorrow and saturday.

Again... shouldnt have a problem beating Wolves with any team we put out.

Anyone know which games are televised?

Wasn't it last season that McCarthy sent a 'weakened' team full of reserves and youngsters to play the Scum at the Swamp ?? His reason was that that game was a completely lost cause and he wanted to 'save' his better players for the more vital relegation games that he thought he could win.

On that basis, he might regard Saturday's League game against City's strongest (??) line up as a similar lost cause and only send another weakened side to Manchester. If that was his thinking, he might surprise us by playing his best side in the Carling Cup on the premise that a win is a win and good for morale, as well as raking in extra cash from a bit of a possible Cup run.

I know this is a bit of an upside down way of thinking, but who knows what's going through McCarthy's mind at the moment.

I don't think that so upside down thinking.. it is possibly more pragmatic tbh. However getting through to the next CC round while good for morale doesn't help their league campaign which is infinitely more important i would think to Wolves.. even a point could make a big difference at the end of the season. We've been there we know.

Bobby also has a dilemma. He has four games in 11 days and will not want to put his strongest team out on sat and will not want to play anyone sat, wed, sat. I suspect there may be someone like Aguero on Wed, who is then rested for Saturday with the European game in mind.

This is where we need mark Hughes for his obvious technical genius.

Like others I was hoping to see one of Suarez or Assulin get an opportunity tomorrow but it's probably unlikley at least in the starting line up.Neither played in today's EDS game v Stockport but Assulin also wasnt in the training group yesterday which suggested to me he isn't fit.

I didn't see training today so can't be sure.I was told a fairly early session today but nothing was happening after 12 o clock when I left. All I had seen was Carlos Tevezworking with Ivan Carminati and the he played some head tennis. Lescott was also out for a while but then went in and I had to go off to see the EDS game.

Best part of the EDS game wasnt the 5 nil win but sitting next to Patrick Vieira ( OK 2 seats away from him) The guy just oozes class.

Sorry to go off topic a little, I have just got 2 tickets for tomorrow so my brother and I are now going. Does anyone know of a pub near by for away fans?

Lifted from elsewhere:

Theres a fairly big spoons in between the station and the stadium

On the team I think it may be possible that some players who played Sunday play tonight and rest on Saturday, ready for Villareal.

Bobby's juggling act!!

Thanks bud.

As we play them twice this week it could be interesting to see how the team choices differ, and how they both play the same team. Im thinking that Nige will be back in tonight with AJ. The striker selection will be interesting as said above those that play might be the ones for the CL next week

I'd sit him on the bench till the 89th minute and then sub him on.

Why do I hope Tevez plays in this game? ffs :(

Also I doubt he'll be playing but I just cannot get enough of Balotelli at the moment.

I'd let him warm up for 90 minutes & then sub on a kid instead.

It's gonna SUCK to be wolves getting beat at home by our 3rd team and then knowing they have to come to the etihad on sat to play our infinitely better 1st team.
