Still not convinced

Postby Dazzacity » Sun Oct 25, 2009 5:06 pm

Sorry to say this, but Im still on the fence and yet to be convinced by Hughes. Iv said it too many times now. He cant change a game and he cant seem to wrap a game up. Best start doin something very soon as there surly cant be anymore hiding places for Hughes. We SHOULD be beatin sides like Fulham at home after all the money we have spent.. He defo isnt comin across as a tactical mastermind thats for sure..

I thought the tactics were fine, and the substitutions were astute.

We had 17 attempts on goal up until Fulham scored, and had 24 attempts by the end of the match. 6 of those coming in the last 10 minutes.

Giving away 2 stupid goals in 6 minutes has nothing to do with that, its just shit defending.

Me neither - not Hughes out but my doubts over his motivational and tactical skills, not to mention his player judgement still remain

I want him out and I want Mourinho in.

I'd like to see a specialist come in to coach the defence because our current setup isn't enough.

On my personal assessment that I dont think we look organised enough,he cant turn a game on its head and he cant kill a game off.

HE HASNT SORTED OUT THE DEFENSE - PERIOD !

RICHARDS AND TO A CERTAIN EXTENT LESCOTT ARE LIABILITIES IN DEFENSE....RICHARDS THE WORST ONE OF THE 2.

FROM THE FIRST MINUTE THERE WAS NO URGENCY THAT WE HAD AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON...WE PLAYED SO MANY BALLS BACK TO THE DEFENSE IT WAS UNREAL.

THE DEFENSE HAS TO BE SORTED OUT......IT COST US THE FUCKING WIN !

Tactics were ok generally (ignoring the pointless hoofing it late on) but despite having changed the faces we are still going to sleep in defence.

WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS WHY HUGHES THINKS RICHARDS DESERVES ANOTHER CONTRACT !!!!

THE GUY DESERVES TO BE DROPPED PERMANENTLY - HE,S FUCKIGNN PAP AND HAS BEEN FOR THE LAST 20 MONTHS !!!

THE SPANISH COMMENTATOR ON FOX SPORTS SUMMED IT UP WHEN HE SAID "RICHARDS JUST DOESNT UNDERSTAND THE GAME"...............OUT OF POSITION ALL THE TIME..BAD FIRST TOUCH..BAD SECOND TOUCH AND USES HIS PHYSIQUE TO BARGE HIS WAY OUT OF TROUBLE......

THAT ABOUT SUMS RICHARDS UP.

He's still very much on a learning curve. Which is why, earlier this year, I thought it too risky to stick with him given the time constraints implied by the noises that were already coming from UEFA at that time aimed at slamming the door shut on new money in football. I still think my judgement was right, on the balance of probability of outcomes. But and a big BUT at that, we are now too far into the project for that change be made. The moment has passed. The best chance of breaking into the big league is now with Hughes as this team, for better or worse, is very much his and we haven't got the time for a new person to either a) learn to work with it or b) to start again from scratch. We now have to see out the Hughes learning curve and hope that at the end of it he will make the grade.
