He looks like a classic Arsenal player, when the team is on top he's everywhere and links in nicely, but as soon as stuff starts going against us he's the first to start shying out of challenges and doing a disappearing act. He got a fair bit of abuse from round by me today.

I think Bob could inject a bit of steel into him though, and that would make him a top player.

Not really. We didn't go into the second half with the ambition of turning it around, but with the aim to stop them from scoring more (two defensive subs). It made sense giving our biggest star a rest in a game we "couldn't win". In hindsight, with the early goals we got, one could argue that it was a bad move, but really, that was impossible to predict.

If a player has been unwell of late i would expect it to be the obvious move to make under the circumstances

Another "we're disappointed with Nasri" thread. Seems like there's one every other week.
Although I do agree with the frustrations voiced here.

Didn't even know he was playing until the 20th minute. He was invisible.

Amazing isn't it? A player plays like a twat again, bottles it in a big game again, does nothing to justify his price tag again and people keep talking about it.......on a forum of all places!

Ill give him another year. He isnt new to the Premiership so its disapointing that we are still waiting for him to justify his price tag. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and that joining a new team and not playing regularly has knocked his confidence.

However for long parts of todays game we were playing with nine men.

Apart from his debut I've not watched him play and thought 'wow what a player, good thing we payed 25 million'.
Needs to step it up big time. He can't use the settling to a new league excuse. Poor start to his city career. At Arsenal he was inconsistent, brilliant one week, dire the next. At least for them he was brilliant some of the time.

It's getting so frustrating, mainly because we all know what he's capable of but he's not even come close to showing it.

Yeh he started last season like he was the new maradona that lasted about three months, enough to turn heads like us. From then on very inconsistent. Have no doubt if he wants to fight he could be a key player, but I have my doubts with pretty much all french players re mentality.

It's not even about consistency with us! Consistency implies he's been good at points.
He's not been good. Nearly every game he's flattered to decieve.

He recently put a great shift in & I thought he'd turned the corner but today he didn't have any real use to the team. He was coming back from illness though. It's not fair to judge players on their 1st season imo. We can get an idea but it's only fair to write him off if he's still the same this time next year. Personally I've never rated him as a full 'A' list player, just someone who could suit our squad, which may still be the case in the future.

Clearly he has talent and I doubt anyone here would dispute that. But like others have said (and perhaps like Dzeko too), I think any problems he has are in his head.

He needs to learn that when you are having a bad run of form, you get out of it by getting involved rather than hiding, cf. James Milner.

I think Bob will get more out of him.

I think nasri needs time and come good eventually but I'm more bothered about kolarov he gave away a penalty today should have gave another away and also the 1st goal he didn't attempt to stop the ball coming in he does some decent things (like some of his free kicks) but there are more negatives than positives about him we payed 12mil more for him than we did for clichy and clichy is a fa better player I think we need shot of him

Don't know the answer to this so I'll throw it out for the rest of you to chew over.

Nasri isexpected to operate in similar areas to Silva and Aguerro. Both of those players are all action, go anywhere and high energy players. Both cover a huge amount of ground and take up space quickly and effectively. Is it possible that with so much movement, Nasri simply has trouble getting intothe gameand finding his own role.

I think playing alongside those tweo genii could be quite challenging.

Just a thought.

When we bought him I thought it was with rotation in mind - I thought we'd use him as our second Silva as a player with a free role behind a striker. Bob wants to shoe-horn him into our best eleven seemingly, but I think it's at a cost in terms of his performance.

I've said many times Nasri is excellent at running through the crappier teams, when you need to break them down at home and chalk up a few goals. No good in big games and only played due to our selection 'crisis'.

I like him, personally i believe him to have performed to a decent level this year and am certain he will come good in the end.

Needs a season to bed in, come next season he should be firing. Have faith.
