ive grown up not really supporting a team,no team really drew me the way city has over the past few years.
city caught my attention a few years back,my friends are all calling me a glory hunter, and i dont blame them, but to me its much more than that. i am probably the only city fan now in my whole group of friends, and get shit everyday for it.
i was attracted by the team, being a huge fan of silva, balotelli, kompany, richards, yaya, kun etc i basically really love the whole team that city has put together. however, reading this forum for the past few months now, watching tunnelcam, citytv, reading all the different stories about city, DH's training reports, the gerard wiekens article, ive come to learn so much more about city fans and i would really love to be part of the family. i love the blue, and i love the motto. i love the spirit. it makes me proud to be a city fan,and despite all the shit i get from my friends about suddenly being a city fan,im still determined that win or lose this will always be the team i love.
perhaps in the coming year i would really love to spend some cash and fly down to etihad, that is currently one of my new year's resolutions. would love to be standing there watching the game with ya'll
as such and until that happens,at home or at whichever pub i go to,i am now and will always be the man shouting aloud for city, win or lose i believe wholeheartedly that i want to support this team for the rest of my life.
regards,
jon
Out of interest mate, who do your mates support? If they support Wigan, Villa, Bolton etc then they have every right to call you a glory hunter. I bet they support Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and United. I that case they have no right. Am I correct?
I think it's a wind-up Dazby. From my experience, the concept of being a glory hunter has no negative connotations when it comes to football in South East Asia. I've met Malaysians, Indonesians and Filipinos who unashamedly choose the team they think will win the Prem at the start of a season, and then support them for that season only.
Also, the phrase 'fly down to etihad' (from Singapore) should ring alarm bells...
I don't think he is on a wind up.

It's still echoing in a rather embarrassing way!

Apologies. The phrase 'come down' though would generally imply that you live North of somewhere, and I assumed that the post was a wind-up from someone who came 'out of character' for a moment and slipped up.
Unless this is some kind of elaborate double-bluff? ;)

My names krisI'm from Telford in Shropshire. I've been a city fan since......well I don't remember not being!!. Apparently my mum was at a match at maine road while pregnant with me. My dad is a lifelong city fan.
Anyways thought it'd be nice to find some fellow city fans. If there's anyone else near me get in touch. I'm looking to get a supporters club together.
Anyway nice to meet you all!

unlikelyblue wrote:Hey everyone, I have been a member on bluemoon for years, and decided it was time for a change. I have been a lurker here on and off for a year and really enjoy a lot of the threads. In the last year though bluemoon has caused my blood pressure to rise and I feel for the sake of my health I must say goodbye to that forum. Yes, I am a yankee, but have been a fan since Keegan was managing. I have a long story about how I became a fan that I might share sometime but for now I'll spare you. Looking forward to good banter, conversation, and less OMG DZEKO SUCKS!!!11 threads. Not a bandwagon fan, I was here long before the summer of 2008 and will be here even if we go into administration and drop.
Cheers.
