Hi all,

New member here based in London but from Manchester. I have been a city fan for too long to remember now and did have a season ticket for about 20 years from a boy going with my dad. Unfortunately this rise of our beloved club has coincided with a fluky run of luck at work seeing me get a number of promotions which mean between work and the kids I am tied to down here and can't get to games (unless
Anyone can find a sneaky way for me and my five year old son to get a ticket for a weekend match!!).

Happy to answer any questions, I suppose I share a highlight or two as a city supporter - being at the FA cup semi win last year and the play off final v gills being two. Have also seen the rise and fall of inflatables, and rise again.

Favourite player ? I'm really torn between big Joe C, Paul P and mike D when I think about it.

Favourite player in today's squad ? Silva is clearly the best we have but love super Mario's arrogance and confidence - he will turn into legend in time I'm sure.

Anyway - hi to all !!!!

ive grown up not really supporting a team,no team really drew me the way city has over the past few years.
city caught my attention a few years back,my friends are all calling me a glory hunter, and i dont blame them, but to me its much more than that. i am probably the only city fan now in my whole group of friends, and get shit everyday for it.
i was attracted by the team, being a huge fan of silva, balotelli, kompany, richards, yaya, kun etc i basically really love the whole team that city has put together. however, reading this forum for the past few months now, watching tunnelcam, citytv, reading all the different stories about city, DH's training reports, the gerard wiekens article, ive come to learn so much more about city fans and i would really love to be part of the family. i love the blue, and i love the motto. i love the spirit. it makes me proud to be a city fan,and despite all the shit i get from my friends about suddenly being a city fan,im still determined that win or lose this will always be the team i love.
perhaps in the coming year i would really love to spend some cash and fly down to etihad, that is currently one of my new year's resolutions. would love to be standing there watching the game with ya'll
as such and until that happens,at home or at whichever pub i go to,i am now and will always be the man shouting aloud for city, win or lose i believe wholeheartedly that i want to support this team for the rest of my life.

regards,
jon

Out of interest mate, who do your mates support? If they support Wigan, Villa, Bolton etc then they have every right to call you a glory hunter. I bet they support Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and United. I that case they have no right. Am I correct?

I think it's a wind-up Dazby. From my experience, the concept of being a glory hunter has no negative connotations when it comes to football in South East Asia. I've met Malaysians, Indonesians and Filipinos who unashamedly choose the team they think will win the Prem at the start of a season, and then support them for that season only.

Also, the phrase 'fly down to etihad' (from Singapore) should ring alarm bells...

I don't think he is on a wind up.

you're right man they're mostly arsenal liverpool chelsea (not so much chelsea tho most of them hate chelsea too) and united fans, with the occassional newcastle and spurs fans as well, therefore you're right i dont really pay what they say much attention haha it just gets annoying when they shoot their mouth off sometimes. i dont claim to have been a city fan for a long time, i havent. ive never known much about city, mainly because no one else i know supports the team. i have said ive only recently begun to really like the team recently, ever since mancini came over i just began to watch city matches alot more regularly, finding city's future really interesting and exciting. and it was just my intention to say hi and show some support from singapore. i didnt start to choose city just because i think they'd win the premier league,i think in that case i would have been a united fan a long time ago. i just started admiring the spirit the team and the fans shared, and a great moment was watching city win the FA cup last year and only imagining how it would have felt to be amongst the fans cheering for a team you believed in for so long, seeing them win something great. i dont know what alarm bells i would be ringing, its only been a sincere wish for me to come down to england (never been there before) and watch a match in a great stadium supporting a team i love. singapore has none of that. ive grown up playing soccer with my friends, and following them to pubs and to their houses to watch the matches when i can,but never really felt particularly drawn to any team until recently as i mentioned. i dont plan to just support city for one season, win or lose, like i said,id really like to be part of this if you guys dont mind haha
i hope that explains it well enough, all i wanted to say was that i now love the team so much (which is why im posting here) and that i really admire everything city has accomplished thus far,and wish all the best for the team in the coming future :)

Apologies. The phrase 'come down' though would generally imply that you live North of somewhere, and I assumed that the post was a wind-up from someone who came 'out of character' for a moment and slipped up.

Unless this is some kind of elaborate double-bluff? ;)

Hello fellow blues,

My names kris I'm from Telford in Shropshire. I've been a city fan since......well I don't remember not being!!. Apparently my mum was at a match at maine road while pregnant with me. My dad is a lifelong city fan.

Anyways thought it'd be nice to find some fellow city fans. If there's anyone else near me get in touch. I'm looking to get a supporters club together.

Anyway nice to meet you all!

Also, in Oxford or Cambridge, to arrive at university is to 'come up', and to leave 'go/sent down' (depending on circumstances) due to the historical predominance of Southerners in the two universities. http://www.peetm.com/OxfordTerms.htm

Hey everyone, I have been a member on bluemoon for years, and decided it was time for a change. I have been a lurker here on and off for a year and really enjoy a lot of the threads. In the last year though bluemoon has caused my blood pressure to rise and I feel for the sake of my health I must say goodbye to that forum. Yes, I am a yankee, but have been a fan since Keegan was managing. I have a long story about how I became a fan that I might share sometime but for now I'll spare you. Looking forward to good banter, conversation, and less OMG DZEKO SUCKS!!!11 threads. Not a bandwagon fan, I was here long before the summer of 2008 and will be here even if we go into administration and drop.

Cheers.

haha....the bluemoon parts made me laugh. I think you can likely enjoy some slightly better debate and threads on here....although there is still a fair bit of "DZEKO SUCKS" the only difference is that we also have Edin's love child on here as a bit of counterbalance\

Hello to everyone,
I was brought up as a United fan and supported them through the 90's, fell out of love with football in the early 2000's, only come back to following it in the last few years. Found it difficult to wear the red shirt anymore, cant put myself into the same catagory as the Utd fans anymore. All the trash talk about City "buying" the FA cup and trying to "buy" the league is rubbish. If the League was ever for sale then it was sold to Utd a long time ago. The team doesnt even try to be good anymore because they think that they dont have to and they'll always be the best (look what happened to Liverpool). The last time I was at old trafford there was 0 atmosphere and the away fans were singing louder whilst losing. I respect were City have come from, yeah theres alot of money going round but thats football in the 21st century. There seems to be a real team spirit going around the blues fans, I havent been to a city game but I plan to go to one soon to see what its all about from the stands!
I dont feel as though I could ever wear the Blue shirt after being a Utd fan as many might say its city's day now and im glory supporting but I'll never be a Utd fan again because i just think the attitude of the club and players stinks.
Not trying to jump on the bandwagon here, I dont feel like a city fan because of my background, just sharing my opinion about Manchester football.
