A Robson-Dani Alves/Yaya plus cash swap is in the works.

Yaya and Kolo partner CB, Alves to RB, Lescott to LB. Robson fills a gap at Barca. Everyonen's sorted.

cheers

It's not some random pick you fucking dolts. There was a story that Henry was looking for an exit on the same day that Bowen and Hughes show up at a Barca game.

I was watching the game as well and if someone was there to pick the tab, I'm sure I would've been present as well. I don't think that them just being there means anything.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

We are not going to get Messi. Not for any amount of money and/or half of our squad. Messi is simply the best player in the game today, and I doubt that he will suffer from "diminishing skills" (as we like to say about NFL players here in the states) anytime soon.

Now, Yaya, or even better, Alves? That would be ideal.

werent you just scolding fucktards in the Robinho thread about a week ago for believing all the paper bollox?

Henry's agent could easily get some press knowing that Hughes and Bowen were coming to the Barca match, no?

just sayin'

regardless of the randomness, lackthereof, or nothingness of them catching the match..i would like one scoop of that skinny little fucler Alves and two scoops or Yaya please.

cheers

I really do wish everyone would shut the fuck up re Yaya

He's a great player but we so don't need him.

Right back - yes
Creative midfielder - distinctly possibly
Left winger - yes
Centre half - wait and see but potentially

Defensive midfielder - we have Nigel, Kompany, Barry and even Zabba who can play there and who are all good enough. Absolutely zero requirement to sign Yaya Toure. Last summer I could understand it. Next transfer windows I cannot see it happening as we don't need him

We don't need him

can't argue about a creative mid...but i think we need a left winger a fuckload less than we need some cover at the back who is versatile and can play DM and some CB in a pinch. Kompany can do both, but he's not really the player that Toure is now is he? i don't think so. From the 4-5 times i've seen Toure play he looks like a world class player while Kompany to me is a "good" player, but not great. Honestly, if i had to pick one player from Barca who could benefit us the most it would be Iniesta or Xavi but Alves is someone they'd more reasonably be willing to sell who could fill a serious need we have at RB

Alves is an amazing player getting forward, but not the greatest defensive player in the world. I think we need a brick wall at rightback and he just doesn't fit the bill.

Yaya is being gone on about for two reasons. He is a great player and better than we have, not saying we are poor there but he is on a whole nother level. And secondly, he is joined at the hip to Kolo apparently, I never notice him during the City games, but surely he must be there.

Xavi or Iniesta...well we can dream, don't think it's even a remote possibility.

Henry is the best bet still if we are going to sign a Barca player and he would be hugely important late on when we need a player to produce magic that turns a 0-0 into 3 points, these players are so few and far between and he is easily the best I have seen.

Messi? Don't make me fucking laugh, he will move on when Barca want him gone and not before, and they will be paid a ludicrous amount of money at the time too.

they wouldn't sell him for all the oil in Arabia...would they? Only mid twenties or so i think, came up through the youth ranks like Xavi did. they are the backbone of what that team can do moving forward. Amazing they have them both really.

if we got him i'd knock one out, then knock you out. the latter would involve a plane flight i guess.

is today a workday in Cairo or can you stop at the ex-pats pub and watch the match?

cheers

yeah it's a work day....although for me (on the basis that much of my client stuff is for western clients) Sunday is quite a quiet day when you can get stuff done due to lack of mither (essential manc vocab for you) that you get.

but also, we're two hours ahead of the UK again now that the clocks have gone back there so I will be able to watch the match in its entirety (although I fucking wish they would stop playing us on a bloody Sunday!)
