I think he genuinely felt hard done by being left out of the side, doesn't seem to realise that being a stone overweight after the Argentina defeat was the main reason for that. The man is clearly not too bright and easily manipulated by Sir Hiss.
In some ways I feel a bit sorry for him. Bobby has said ages ago that all he has to do is apologise and he can come back. Whoever is advising him not too, presumably Sir Hiss, should take most of our ire.
I know what you mean but if he hasn't got the balls to stand up to his "advisor", then he deserves all he gets.
