Prosecution: "And you had a very expensive accountant..... Redknapp "VERY!"
Redknapp says if allegations true "The day Milan comes to sack me I'll say you'd better not because you led me down path of crime once, he adds that Mandaric is "not that silly. The whole thing, to be truthful, is unbelievable".
Redknapp talking about his poor form with share dealing "I got my son wiped out nearly once"
Redknapp "I'd never heard of shares until playing golf. Was recommended Firecrest. It was more firework. Went out like damp squib. Lost all"

DAY 9 cont.
Not much laughter from the court this afternoon .....
Prosecution: I suggest you're telling a pack of lies Mr Redknapp. You've come to this Court and twisted your account to get you off hook."
Redknapp: You think that I put my hand on the bible and told lies? That's an insult. I've told you no lies.... I don't do that.
Redknapp: I might tell Mr Beasley (NOTW) lies but I don't tell this Court lies. I'm the most ungreedy person you ever met - ever, ever. Give me bible back and I'll put my hand back on it.
Laughter as Redknapp talks about Rosie again. "I don't ever like calling her a dog. She was better than that"
Voices raised as prosecution finish cross exam. Redknapp asks why Mandaric needed help on tax when he was "only down to his last billion"
Prosecution have finished questions for Redknapp. Judge now asking questions to R. Judge asking more about what R. said to News of World
Redknapp: "Everything I've told you has been the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. So help me God"

sounds like 'arry is overplaying his "I try me best to help everyone/I'm too stupid to even think of something like this" act. It's starting to come off as a caricature of a real person. Unless the jury is a bunch of his chums from the local chippy, I can't see anyone buying his defense

DAY 9 cont.
Redknapp has finished evidence. Now his defence team has just called Arsenal's Bob Wilson to give evidence
Bob Wilson's evidence is very short. Told jury Redknapp is "amazing guy" who's always helped with Wilson's charity whenever requested
Redknapp/Mandaric jury told that they will retire to consider their verdicts on Tuesday.
Jury has been sent home for the day. No more witnesses will be called.
Prosecution will give their closing arguments at 11.30 tomorrow.

Day 10
Different court room today (Court 1 not 6). This one's slightly bigger which means more football fans have been able to fit in the public gallery.
Prosecution closing arguments. Ask jury for a "cold, clinical analysis of the issues you need to determine"
Prosecution say Redknapp "knows perfectly well that his club had a responsibility for deducting tax at source"
Prosecution say key question about Monaco money is: "Did it arise from employment income? Was it a bonus?" If bonus, it should have been taxed
Prosecution "Was it simply coincidence that the £100,000 was not that far from the 5% (Crouch) that Redknapp had lost?"
Prosecution tell jury News of World tape in which Redknapp repeatedly says payment was a bonus is "extremely important"
Prosecution say way Redknapp answers News of World questions is "extremely telling" & "will assist you enormously in determining the truth"

DAY 10 cont.
Prosecution say that on the tape Redknapp "couldn't have made it plainer" that money was a bonus. "The words come from Mr Redknapp's mouth"
Prosecution say Redknapp has "many qualities you'll have little doubt about, but the fact is this - bonus paid to bank in Monaco and no tax was paid on it"
Prosecution says it's "plain as a pikestaff," that the money paid into Redknapp's Monaco account is connected to sale of Peter Crouch.
Redknapp, according to prosecution in an unguarded moment, told it like it was to journalist from NOW when he insisted payment was a bonus.

My understanding is that Harry was a bag man in the 90's. But the sums involved in this case are piddling in the context of the tax he does pay. As ever IR choose an easy target whilst doing deals with Corporations who have underpaid billions. Ridiculous bloody case in my view.

Am I to believe that If I am of the opinion that twitchy is a tax dodging criminal cunt, I would be risking some kind of punishment?
Or are you just being funny?

Seems like they are more after Mandric to me and that Redknapp's just there as a part of it.
