Are all the prem games going ahead after another smashing of the white stuff. Well more importantly is the villa game going ahead?

Why not ?

Since the beginning of February, the temperatures here where i live haven't risen above -5 during the day, going down to -15 at night. All the lakes are frozen over, there is snow everywhere. I was actually walking on water (well 15cm thick ice on the lake) yesterday with the dog. It's great to see the lakeside from a ducks viewpoint in the middle of a lake !.

Yet there was football last weekend and this weekend.

Seriously, I hope we play on Sunday. we need to keep the momentum up and the forecast is for 5°C in Brum on Sunday.

Although, if United drop points tomorrow, it might be nice to have the game off on sunday, get the Toures and Mario(eventually !) back and have the game at Villa rescheduled to later in the season, when it's not an issue for Villa... !

A postponement on sunday wouldnt be the worst thing in the world for us.

Simpy put we could play the week later as both City and Villa are out of the FA Cup, and Ya Ya can also play.

About 1 mm in Coventry. Can't see a problem for Sunday thought he point about skipping a week is spot on. Definitley better to play this with Yaya back.

See the point about having yaya back but this week has dragged and Sunday can't come quick enough. Also there is no snow in Manchester so the rags will be playing tomorrow morning and most likely win which would put them top for a week rather than a day which will only help taggart motivate the cunts. So I hope it's not called off because we don't need yaya to beat villa, there shiiiiit.

No NFL game has ever been called off for any reason. But in the UK a little bit of snow and people have good reason to be concerned that a game will be called off. Pathetic really.

Different when you are setup for long bad winters and when you play wearing crash helmets.

Actually there was a postponement in recent years.

However, you should remember that most American Football is played on artificial turf which is easier to manage and the main reason it was introduced is to beat the cold weather. However there are many teams that still have grass. Washington , philly, Chicago, Green Bay and some of the Californian teams and Floridians.

Also, it is quite common in some of the US states although I don't think it is a legal requirement, like pretty much every country on mainland Europe to have Winter tyres on your car. Where I live it is obligatory after the beginning of November to drive with winter tyres and if you have an accident in bad conditions your insurance might not pay out.

Winter tyres do make a difference on snow and ice. Of course, there are still accidents, but in general, traction is much better than summer tyres.

If it snows in LA, let's see if the game is on.

The UK's problem is the unpredictability of bad weather. We've had a couple of days of snow this winter. There's not a lot you can do when it happens. If we were going to get it for 3 months guaranteed we'd all have snow chains and there would be grit bins everywhere. I needed snow chains to get out of my avenue last Saturday but the main road was fine, so it wasn't practical to buy and fit a set for 100 yards. By Sunday evening, all the snow had gone. But the other side of Manchester had several inches which stayed until mid-week. That's about 6 miles away as the crow flies.

The week that 9/11 happened they cancelled the NFL.

Vikings game also cancelled in 2010 due to collapse of the Metrodome roof from the 6 feet of snow that fell.

Apologies if posted and covered elsewhere but I recall hearing somewhere this week that Ireland has had a stand up confrontation with his Manager, with raised profanities and expletives galore being passed around, with the prospects of potential fisticuffs being imminent.

Has anyone else come across this ?? :- if true, it doesn't augur well for team spirit at the Vanilla.

I'm sure you'd love it here in Italy then. It's two weeks that at least one game in Serie A gets rescheduled due to bad weather, and more might follow this weekend; not to mention all the not football related problems in towns not used to so much snow.

On December 26, 2010. The NFL postponed the game between the Minnesota Vikings At the Philadelphia Eagles due to snow. It was pushed back until Tuesday. The Eagles were playing for a chance at a first round bye and with the game being pushed back until Tuesday, they came out flat and lost their chance of a first round bye, than eventually lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

It was Minnesota's second game of the season they played that was postponed.

Their game against the Giants on Dec. 12 was postponed a day after Minneapolis got 15 inches of snow. It was then moved to Detroit when the Metrodome roof collapsed. Their game against Chicago the following week was played at the University of Minnesota's outdoor stadium because of the damaged roof.
