Agreed but my point was not that Huddersfield wouldn't sit tight, maybe Clark had been tapped up and he forced their hand by wanting to apply......as I said who knows, it'll come out in the wash no doubt

THIS!!! Being born in Huddersfield I always keep an eye on whats going on there. Just spoke to my father who's a massive fan and the fans are no longer behind him. Seems to have fiddled about to much with his tactics and thrown good money after bad!

I wouldn't mind going to a game at the McAlpine (or whatever) again soon. Last (and only) time I went was the day after we signed Peter Beardsley on loan. We went there and won 3-1, leapfrogging them in the league, but went down anyway a few weeks later. It pissed down like you wouldn't believe that night. Does anyone else remember it? The ground was really state of the art for back then (1998) and the atmosphere was cracking.

The 1-1 was on Sky on a Friday night. Wijnhaard scored for them. It was a good result for us at the time, given our shitness and their play-off hopes. Funny what you remember.

Im Huddersfield born and keep in touch with what goes on.I went to see them play Bournemouth before xmas +town were clueless.On the day theurnemouth manager -one Lee Bradbury appeared to out think Lee Clark.Too many draws-for town fans liking.People are hinting that there is a bit more to it than just results.

Funnily enough I was talking to a Terriers fan yesterday before this story broke. His assessment of Clark was he had a plan 'A' but couldn't work things out as a game unfolded. "I wouldn't be sorry if he went" was his summary. The other thing that I can't help noticing is that he seems slightly retarded when you see him interviewed. He says strange things.
