Totally disagree with you, Stefano, and please try to write in English nex time or you'll be probably be banned from this forum! All Italian schools teach English, where did you stay during the lessons?

Easy there Renny mate, Stefano is still wet behind the ears, it might have passed him by that this is an English footie forum!

So Stefano wrote in Italian that Lescott for him is a weak defensive player. This isn't my point of view and MCFC stats show impressively how good was his last performance not forgetting how many games Lescott played very well for our beloved City!
From Torino, Italia to Manchester, Lancashire this City is always our City!

To those who want a replacement for Lescott who do you realistically want who's significantly better?

No doubt some random player who has a posh souding name who has never played in the prem. Dodged a huge bullet with David Luiz and many wanted him over JL......no thanks. If we can't get someone on par with Vidic then I wouldn't bother.. Best defemce in the prem. End of!

I like Lescott though.
I don't think we need a replacement for him.

i think there needs to be some kind of middle ground that can be taken between the people who think lescott is gash and the people who think he's better than vidic.

To me, it's obvious he is a good cb. He's having a good season and he partner's vinnie well.

Is he world class? For me, no, he isn't. That is not a slight on him, as very few players are world class. The question then becomes, if you could replace lescott with a world class CB, would you want to? Who would it be?

Personally, I don't know who it would be. And I don't think we should replace him at this time. I just hope he keeps moving forward as a player and improves in the areas that seem a bit weak.

Absolutamente.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I wanted Luiz as leftback (his natural position) who could COVER as centerback. Said it numerous times and I still stand by that opinion. We got Kolarov instead.

If Kolo goes we will need to bring another centre half in & one who'll challenge Lescott & Kompany as that's where we are lacking - strength in depth, but equally it would help if they challenged the current partnership as well - but I haven't got a clue who we should sign - could go for the likes of Abiol, but as SoF has already pointed out they are unproven at Premiership level

People need to remember that it doesnt always work having two world class centre backs if they dont compliment each other, Lescott may not be world class but he compliments Vinny very well, if we put a world class centre back in there say for eg Vidic it may not work aswell as JL and VK despite vidic being a better player than JL. I'm happy with what we have at the moment and should be enough to see us through, It wont be the defence that loses us the league it will be the attack in my opinion.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The present first choice pairing is spot on but I'd love to see hummels or subotic come in. Both are outstanding with hummels the better player. We will need one more CB

Got to disagree. I've watched quite lot of them and Subotic is definitely one who covers for Hummels lot of the time. Fantastic players both of them though.

Either would strengthen our squad and would be a good long term signing if Kolo leaves

This guy is impressing me more and more. Occasional errors happen and he doesn't look like a footballer but fuck me he's a good defender.

I've always like Lescott, quality player. Seems his price tag isn't becoming much of a problem now.
