and the end of the season??
Couldn't believe it when I heard 'The Stiff' was starting because he had another injury, or is it the same one?.
Its a given that we'll get nothing much out of him for at least a month after his return from the African Cup of Nations
(which seems to go on forever, anyway)
Then he'll be taking things easy, in advance of the World Cup Finals,.....not wanting to miss out.
Or give his country 100%.
For all this talk of our 'embarassment of striking riches', when we had to take 'The Stiff' , the big bad Birmingham defence had no difficulty snapping out whatever our collective of striking midgets had to throw at them

Yeah, but now that we have Santa Cruz, we have options to win games like these.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Samta Cruzaras you mean! I fear the same problem as Jolene Lescott, put a big price on an average player and the pressure makes them a bad player. A condition historically known as stevedaleyitis.

To be fair he's not match fit: we'd need to give him the equivalent of four full Premier League games before we can start asking questions

Anyone thinking we need another striker? I just hope the injury is nothing major and he's back next week, cause I dread to think about us having to rely on Santa Poo!

I was wary of the RSC signing as I suspected he may have been a 'one season wonder' but we can't judge him until he's fully match fit
(quite apart from the 'knee brace' he was wearing today!)

No and don't look like doing so.

Odds on to qualify actually. Remaining game is home to Gabon. Need to at least match whatever Morocco get against Cameroon. Hopefully they wont :O)

No, they've got no chance. They sit 3rd in their group on just five points. Leaders Cameroon have 10 points and just 1 game remains.

If Togo win they qualify
If Morocco don't win, Togo qualify
If Morocco win and Togo lose or draw, then Morocco qualify and Togo go out

Ah, I'm an idiot mate, sorry about that. For some reason I thought we were talking World Cup here, not Cup of Nations.
