I think a shake up of tactical formation is the only way we'll see any difference in the way we're playing.
I seem to hear this all the time! However, Superman has it all, so please tell me why he cannot play in a 4-4-2? Its bollox imo
I'll re-phrase. He isn't as effective as an attacking threat in the 442 formation.
He's most effective when playing off the striker
This all depends on what he is being asked to do. Ireland is a great attacking threat as he is rarely picked up from his deep runs, also his arriving late into the box and his ability to create something that others are not able to see. However, sometimes Ireland may be asked to perform a specific role that is needed for the team. 4-4-2, 4-1-4-1, 4-5-1, 4-3-3 are all numbers adding to 10. Ireland can play in any of them. Some people call 4-4-2 a 4-1-2-1-2 utilising a diamond as Chelsea do. In reality, its all bollox when you are saying he cannot play in a 4-4-2. Ireland has the ability to play anywhere across the middle and in any role. He may prefer a 4-3-3, however, it doesnt mean he cannot play in a 4-4-2!

Hopefully Ade will be back and I personally would put him up front with Bellers, bring Tevez off the bench to chase at tired legs. Petrov on left, Swp on right and Ireland and Barry in the middle, play Barry more into the holding role and allow Ireland a more free reign down the middle.
Whens that other chap who plays for us back??, Rob something?
I haven't a fecking clue what I'm doing! Gillie come back man I want my sig back. As the Photobucket thingy gone?

Next weekend we should see a lot of the ball, and have plenty of possession in Burnley's half, meaning we could do with a winger who can actually go past the full-back. I think Weiss deserves a chance in this one. Its a good time to both rest SWP and also see what the kid can do, as I've a hunch he would show up well and also perhaps shake Shaun up a bit and make him realise he needs to raise his game somewhat.
I'd also stick Ireland in the middle with Barry, and play Petrov on the left too. This is a game we need badly and also one where we should dominate possession so two holding midfielders isn't required, hence De Jong can be sacrificed.
I agree about SWP mate as for Ireland every game so far hes played with Barry, Barry has played great. Barrys form has dropped since Irelands injury/drop from first choice. Just like Ireland plays off Robson I think Barry plays well off Ireland we need Robbie back ASAP I thinks to get anything from this season.

I'm not saying he can't play in a 442 matey, I'm saying he's not as effective in a 442 compared to the 451/433 we played last season. Attackingwise.
