He was, but then fell on the floor and looked shattered for the next five minutes.
Considering it's of the calendar year he should have been - some very good games after Xmas last year and started well this.

Yaya Toure is the best player I have seen play for us in 40 years. He joined to be part of this wonderful story and he for me has pulled us to this final chapter. It is his destiny to be a champion with Manchester City and next season to win us the Champions League. I salute him and my son who is 5 was singing his name at the end today. Alot of people asked why we paid the money we.did but now they can see that in the biggest games he is a wonderful match winner and pound for pound worth every penny. I am convinced that if it was not for the African Cup of Nations we would be celebrating the double. Thank you Yaya.

Fucking hell, I don't think I've ever attempted to read the early parts of this thread before. Those that posted on the first few pages didn't half show themselves up. There's a lot more than the OP that need to be embarrassed. Poor Yaya struggling because nasty Mancini was making him go forward as an attacking midfielder. Read it again people and realise once and for all that maybe, just maybe, the Italian wanker knows more about football than we do?

Quite right Soccs, and then of course there was all the bile and nonsense in the 'Mancini out' threads a few weeks ago. Passion leads to nonsense I'm afraid.

Credit where it's due, you aren't afraid to go against the crowd and that is always worthy of respect whether right or wrong.

Yaya wants a Barca return.
A Spanish radio station conducted the interview in which Yaya Toure stated that Barcelona has always been the most important club for him and that he would like to finish his sporting career there.
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story ... rn?cc=5739If he is turning 29 this Sunday, I am assuming he will want to return to Barcelona in the next 3 or 4 years. But he will be about 32 years old by then and I don't think Barca would want to buy a player that they will only be able to use for a maximum of 3 to 4 years.
What does everyone else think?

I think it may be a pipe dream for Yaya. As you stated Barca are unlikely to sign a player with only a year or two left of his career, unless they can get him on a free transfer and even then the move looks unlikely. Are these definitely recent quotes? I seem to remember a similar story coming out soon after he had signed for us. I wouldn't be surprised if these are old quotes that have been recycled

Think he was being diplomatic but even if he wasn't he has done enough for me already.
There's a couple of players who are leg ends for me and Yaya is one of them.

I think it's an interview he gave not long after signing for us.
Either way, he said this 2 years ago, nothing new here, just the standard destabilisation tactics from the media
