Hmmmm adebayor? So thats 5 strikers. Cant see spurs affording him

How do we get rid of Adebayor? Reported to "earn" £180k a week. Spurs top wage supposedly £70k. Won't be going there unless we continue to subsidise massively, which is crazy. Any chance of him taking a pay cut in the interests of finding a new club? Doubt it. Like shit stuck to shoes, him and Bridge, but fookin expensive shoes in the light of FFP.

Never thought I'd see this much talk about getting rid of a striker who scored 19 goals for us last season (not starting 50% of the games eiter probably).

I sincerely hope he stays as he is a great player and gives us something else than the three others. Can you see Tevez scoring that header?

Problem with AJ is he plays on the wrong wing to be considered a winger. He always has to cut in to use his left foot. That's not what wingers do.

Unless the papers are stirring stuff up (probably are knowing us) it seeems possible than Dzeko is on the radar of a couple of clubs and Van Persie is on ours. Problem with that is, bayern and juventus arent going to make proper offers are they? remember the hoo-hah for boateng and our dealings with milan...cant be arsed with the hassle...any deals to be done hopefully are already being done so that the squad can have a hassle free pre-season

We got our own back from Bayern for Boateng didn't we? That was excellent bit of business imo.
but yes, you do have a point that we may struggle to get proper offers from another clubs. the ideal situation would be that PSG or Anzhi Makakhkalalala comes up with big offers

Last week Dzeko stated that hes a city player and he wants to stay. it seems his agent is forcing the move elsewhere.

Exactly. But I think if he wants to stay he will. He seems happy at city even if he doesn't get to play much. If we get a world class winger, dzeko will be on fire with the right delivery to him.

Before we got Dzeko, people were moaning that we didn't have any options coming off the bench or against certain types of teams/defensive formations. Then people were moaning how Dzeko looks lanky and doesn't have silky touch. Yet he banged tons of goals for us and indeed, came of the bench to equalise against QPR with a HEADER from a CORNER.

Thing is, and some people really don't get this, if we sold him we would NEED to bring in someone similar. It's easy to just say it on Internet forum but there really aren't that many players available who would provide as many goals as he does from as few minutes.

He is not perfect player by any means but we NEED him imo.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Fully agree with you there Antti.....we have plenty of striking options for Plan A, Plan B and a Plan C

What we lack is the ability to really mix up the way we go about overcoming (or bypassing) the opposition's midfield, esp when it is massed back and to get the right kind of delivery into our strikers...esp Dzeko but also to a degree Balotelli in those kind of situations and games.

I would be very happy for us to go into next season with the four forwards we have currently. We need pace on the flanks and someone (s) who can hit quality pacey deliveries into the box in the right kind of areas

Spot on.

Some fans expect a forward who spends time on the bench and only had one start since Jan 1st to score every time he goes on the pitch even though he gets 15 mins more often than not to do so !

It cannot be easy competing with 3 other top class forwards..only 2 of them at any one time can play ffs.....I think when called upon Dzeko has delivered..especially when it matterered.

Whos to say that we get another replacement in and him and one of the others starts banging them in with Aguero/Tevez on the bench and when one of them is called upon they put in an average to shit performance due to the splinters they gained whilst on the fuckign bench ?? does that mean Aguero/Tevez is shite and we should sell one of them as well?

4 strikers in our team and not all of them will be fucking on fire every time they hit the pitch.

If I remember rightly..Dzeko was on fire and was dropped for no fucking reason whatsoever.

For fucks sake.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Dzeko was dropped after being one of our forward line to having had a tiring international week, then came Bayern & his involvement in that incident was over shadowed by Tevez - if you remember Bob told Edin he's be sat next to him on the bench until he learned who gave the orders, maybe that was his undoing, but it's in the past do hopefully he'll stop & some of us will get off his back

I'm all for keeping Dzeko as a SQUAD player. But we can't rely on him to be our first choice. If he's happy sitting on the bench, starting a few games and coming off the bench a lot then fair play. If he wants regular football he'd be better suited elsewhere.

nqdp has it about right, we need him. Dzeko that is, not nqdp. He isn't perfect but then which tall striker is??
It is possible he had a poor run due to being a bit miffed and his head wasn't 100% on the job and wasn't improved by not getting games.. that is a tricky situation for both player and manager. However as he got the vital goal to change the season there is more than a good chance all that will have changed, there is no reason for Dzeko not to feel like a key player. My guess would be that given the right attitude he will improve himself to be another reliable first choice for the team. It is set up perfectly imo for the coming season, if he can't show that he is capable of being first choice over the course of the season then maybe it is time to ask some questions, but not now.

He's just won the league with us. Imo, that should improve his & all the other players' confidence no end.

We need to sign another player to feed him imo but I expect Dzeko to step up to the plate now if he stays. I expect to see a much mentally tougher player than the one we saw last season. Winning the league will make a big difference I recon. It SHOULD do anyhow.
