This story has been doing the rounds since the season ended and this latest episode seems to be a rehash of the 'Real want Silva' bollox that came out prior to the Euros. It's just the tabloid media trying to unsettle the club and another one of our players - notice how the story coincided with Spain's demolition of Ireland in which David played a key role? First it was Yaya, then Aguero and now Silva. Expect this to continue until Sept 1st

It has been discussed according to the papers for over a year now, but he only has 2 years left on his deal and it seems strange that he's not committed (or maybe we've not formally offered one) to a new one yet.
