Rags agree fee for van persie

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Taggart really lost the plot. Why the hell did he brought RVP when his middle is beyond shite.

Carrick, Lurch Fletcher, Ginger Monster and Fatboy Slim Anderson. How the hell can they cope?

I though they were decent up front with Wellbeck who had a good Euro, Ripley Hernandez and Berbatov.

Their transfers looked like ours a thew years ago, just names, but without any mind. Brought in just for the sake of it.

Idiots.

One could say its a very expensive marketing ploy. As said earlier it isnt as if they are lacking goals in their team...they are well set up ill give them that..they will create chances...but a less headline catching signing...for arguments sake De rossi...would have made them far stronger than they were last season....i still see that soft centre...a glaring weakness..

The only thing that bothers me is that at times last season it looked as if teams weren't scared of the rags like they would be in the past.
I'm only worried that now that Van Pussie has signed; they'll go back to being shit scared of the rags and letting them have their own way.

This happened much less towards the business end of the season though. At the start of the season teams went scared of them especially at the swamp and everyone was raving about how amazing they are. When teams needed to get something later on they played the rags off the park so I am expecting a good few teams to bend over for them between now and January and then it will get tougher for them like last season.

That fluke Arsenal result was to blame. Most teams treated them like Barca on speed.

I suppose this belongs here. I don't like going on about "them". Let's not think about what "they" can do to us, let's focus on ourselves. But, according to all and sundry, it's between the two of us for the league this year (Cue mass waving of white flags from the rest of the league - it's pathetic really).

I've been reading loads of comments on different sites about "them" signing RvP, and that makes them favourites for the Prem et bloody ctera. Any City fan posting is reminded about the close finish, last kick of match and so on. Can't argue with that - it's true. Allegedly now "they" have made new signings it's all going to be different.

Well maybe.

The point I want to make, and seems not to be answered wherever I look, is this:-

"They" were 8 points in front with only a few games to play and we overtook them. How on Earth did "they" let such an advantage slip? Well my answer is one that wouldn't go down well at the Everglades. When it came to "squeeky bum time", the players, management, and the rest of the Orcs just weren't good enough.

Question 1, am I right to think this way - how else did "they" blow it?

Question 2, have they enough "winners" in "their" squad? Have their new signings added to the sum total of guts required to tough it out when it comes to the crunch?

Excellent post ... yes, 'they' totally bottled it when it mattered and we did keep it together ... their signings haven't made them as strong as perhaps return of Vidic will ... their midfield was weak last season and it remains that ... Gigs and Scholes another year older and so on ... but at the same time we were very lucky with injuries last season, so I really hope that we stay lucky on that front ...

On the topic of RVP, everyone's raising his injury concerns ... to me what has a bigger potential of fucking them at the front is egos ... RVP was the sole king at Arsenal, here he is an outsider coming in ... where Rooney was king who is directly threatened (not of his place in starting XI but his status amongst them) ... and other younger guys Welbeck and lot surely feeling they have been pushed back a spot so what gets cooked amongst the psyche of strikers over there might not be as simple as adding Rooney's goal tally with RVPs and that's a lot more goals for them as the rest won't sort itself out ...

Widely agree on the zipped part, a part from the fact that "them" went so close for 2 main reasons, which is hard to argue with:
1) had an extraordinary support from the men in black - way OTT and unusual in the English Game
2) very rarely the opponent of "them" went for exploit the weaknesses of "them". I reckon that the Everton game at the swamp has changed a lot of things in respect of that myth

Q1: almost yes
Q2: absolutely NOT, and I am already chuckling at the idea of a) will the Arse pussy stay fit all season long? Will he melt right with Shrek? I think not and I have no worry about "them"

Come on THE ALMIGHTY BLUES!

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

Interesting read if you have five minutes or so. Comes from us City fans on the other side of the pond. Basically talks about how dumb Man U are for signing RVP. Which we already all know about anyway.

Well the bloke they've just signed certainly doesn't add to the list of 'winners' or have the famed 'experience' but you can be fucking sure he'll be spouting off about both in the media, before the season is out.

Well Sir Baconface has come to conclusion that hes manager abilitis is not the only one thing that wIn titels and that he need players so they really arm them self , with RVPand Shrek i must say that atack sounds strong but if Rvpstay on form of last season , did we buy anywone at all i think its our strength that our players by now know who plays how and wath and that could be advantage. i m just hoping to get rid Adebayor and for one good winger and meybe somwone better then Savic even that Richards show he can play there no problem on CB.

Some are in denial about this. He's an absolutely brilliant player, was incredible last season. They've done well to get him and strengthen their attack.

Rooney- RVP and Tevez-Aguerro, not much difference, 4 of the best strikers in the world.

Out of interest, what makes Van Persie one of the worlds best? One good season at a club where literally everything went through him.

If anyone wants to see rags being wound up to the maximum have a look at Rodney Marsh's twitter. He's doing his best on the fishing.

He's always been hugely talented, just injury prone. But last season he carried a very poor Arsenal side by himself. His goalscoring record is fantastic.
He's a great player, always rated him. Cunt- absolutely but brilliantly talented.

Great words by Rodney Marsh!!!

Former Manchester City forward Rodney Marsh thinks Manchester United’s capture of Robin Van Persie has a hint of “desperation” about it. “Van Persie is Ferguson’s last-ditch effort to reclaim the title back from Manchester City. Marsh added “it tinges a touch of desperation on Manchester United’s part based on the fact they have spent an incredible amount for an ageing player”

True.

What get's me is why the media cannot see it in this fashion. He's clearly put all his eggs in one basket on this one. If RVP gets injured i'm gonna piss myself laughing.
