FM 2012 the Mark Hughes Story

Postby Green & Blue » Wed Aug 22, 2012 8:58 am

Just hearing Qpr have agreed a deal for Ricardo Carvalho now.Only yesterday they were signing Michael Dawson aswell.

Kind of feels like Mark Hughes is snapping players up at about the same rate as i did when i played football manager in my teens.

Already this window he has brought in Robert Green, Ryan Nelsen, Andrew Johnson, Samba Diakite, Fabio, ParkJi Sung, Junior Hoilett and Jose Bosingwa.
In January he also went wild bringing in Bobby Zamora, Djibril Cisse, Nedum Onuoha, Samba Diakite, Federico Macheda and Taye Taiwo.

I'm really not sure if he is a good thing for that club.He hardly improved the teams fortunes last season after a whirlwind january transfer window and they just started this season with a 5-0 thumping.

One of the worst managers out there in my book.

I think Hughes transfer policy relies on signing a load of players and hoping that a couple turn out to be good. The rest fall by the way side, are on massive wages, and ultimately do little to help a clubs financial posistion.

Perfect case example are ourselves. For every Zabaleta, Kompany and De Jong, there are numerous Adeabyors, Santa Cruz's, Bridge, Ben Haim, etc etc.

And what has all this got him? An opening day thumping at the hands of Swansea. If you sign a whole new team, even on Football Manager, it takes a long time to gel. Simpleton Hughes hasn't quite got the hang of this just yet.

His loyalty to the Welsh Mafia of Bowen et al is admirable on a personal level, but in a professional environment has to be questioned. Their defending on Saturday was some of the worst I have ever seen in the Premiership.

So so glad that he is no longer with us and we have a manager with a Plan B. The manner of his dismissal left a lot to be desired, but the decision was certainly the correct one. There wouldnt be a chance in hell of us winning the title with him in charge.

But other than that, he is alright.....

In his interview after The Game, he said QPR would never be in the same position at the end of the season while he was in charge.....well there are two ways that can happen:)

Its a shame because after the way the QPR fans behaved at the end of last season, I would love them to do well - they were top notch that day.

However I hope Hughes fails. Arrogant manager with little to back up his claims.

I had a thought on this today.

It may have been answered previously but I've no memory so stiff.

Basically I was saying to my mate at work that if you believe that he scouted Zabba and Vinny at Blackburn then surely he's had a scout there that he's left behind. At Blackburn he scouted players on the continent that became great value for little money, but since then he's bought what about 25 players and just about all prem experienced?

Ned, swp (twice), Bellers, shay, gaz, bridge, rsc (2nd time), fabio, cisse, green, ade, Tevez, Park, boswingwa, kolo, lescott etc.

With all the entourage he takes with him, why the fuck did he not get the scout who did wonders when he actually had credibility?

Hughes buys proven Prem players,Big wages and mostly big transfer fees but most seem a risk.

+ He is a rag twat. Other than that I fully agree.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Didn't Warnock buy SWP for QPR before Leslie took over?

Why have they stopped doing what they did well then? It just doesn't make sense that they can find all these brilliant players abroad but are choosing not to.

Qpr right now look like a journeymen 11.

Hughes at City was a "Yes" man, alot of players bought in he had no say in, Jo and Robbie being 2 examples of players bought whilst he was playing golf and had nothing to do with. Kakka refused to sign as had no contact with our manager, I don't think Bridge was his choice either. He did find some gems Komps being the best of the best but he does not manage a club he just does what he is told. The only board purchase I can think of in Bob's time is AJ and we all know how much game time he has had...

So bad transfers were nothing to do with him, but good signings were him finding 'gems'?

This is why I fucking despised the lickers.
