One of the worst managers out there in my book.

I think Hughes transfer policy relies on signing a load of players and hoping that a couple turn out to be good. The rest fall by the way side, are on massive wages, and ultimately do little to help a clubs financial posistion.

Perfect case example are ourselves. For every Zabaleta, Kompany and De Jong, there are numerous Adeabyors, Santa Cruz's, Bridge, Ben Haim, etc etc.

And what has all this got him? An opening day thumping at the hands of Swansea. If you sign a whole new team, even on Football Manager, it takes a long time to gel. Simpleton Hughes hasn't quite got the hang of this just yet.

His loyalty to the Welsh Mafia of Bowen et al is admirable on a personal level, but in a professional environment has to be questioned. Their defending on Saturday was some of the worst I have ever seen in the Premiership.

So so glad that he is no longer with us and we have a manager with a Plan B. The manner of his dismissal left a lot to be desired, but the decision was certainly the correct one. There wouldnt be a chance in hell of us winning the title with him in charge.

But other than that, he is alright.....

Mancini has had his share of crap signings too. Every single manager does.

34 years old and played 8 games last season...what a gem.

it is a very good back 4 for a team that were very nearly relegated last season imo

not saying he's a decent manager - he was crap for us and wasted a lot of money, that can't be denied - but with a limited budget he's proven that he can put together a good side imo, defensively at least, don't forget he signed komps and zabba before the takeover

Dont you forget he signed Jo and Ben Haim before, then RSC and Bridge after. And the only limit to QPR's budget is because no-one good wants to go and play for them. And crock, crock, old man..and taiwo. Seriously what happened to Taiwo? He was supposed to become an excellent player and he can't be that old, I guess he Johnson'd it.

Personally I think Hughes couldn't manage a piss up in a brewery. Give him a warchest and he goes mental and fritters it away, I agree though give him a tight budget where he has to think and he looks actually transfer competent.

People cite Komps and Zaba as his great signings to balance out his shit ones but often forget these signings were made in the final days of the Thaksin regime when he had to make each penny count.
