I'm sure I can make that fit. If you really want me to.

I am not saying it is stunning, but average it most certainly is not. Like I said, same period of time and similar records. Off you go.

I haven't read the match related threads yet but what people are saying on here is relevant to the home performances as well imo, it works both ways. We are a little bit better away but worse at home.

We were dodgy away from home last season starting when Savic first appeared v QPR, & although we won, it was streakey & showed the whole Premier League that we were not invincible. This season we have made changes at the back & still looked ok, which is an improvement of course but doesn't tell the whole story.

We lost at Napoli in the Chumps last season, then DLDLWLWLDL in the Prem before winning at Norwich, Wolves & Newcastle.

Liverpool Barclays Premier League D
Chelsea Barclays Premier League L
West Brom Barclays Premier League D
Sunderland Barclays Premier League L
Wigan Athletic Barclays Premier League W
Everton Barclays Premier League L
Aston Villa Barclays Premier League W
Swansea City Barclays Premier League L
Stoke City Barclays Premier League D
Arsenal Barclays Premier League L

We drew at Fulham & Stoke earlier so compared to last season, we are 5 points up away from home v those teams BUT we have already dropped 2 points at West Ham. Last season, we won at Blackburn, Wolves & Bolton, so we are 2 points less by losing to West Ham. Therefore we are currently 3 points better off v the same teams.

BUT, we are 1 point down at home.

Overall, similar provided we win at OT & Spurs & beat the rags at home next week.

Imo, if we lose next week, we have a big problem winning the title as the rags will be 6 points clear & we are unlikely to beat Everton away (rags have been there) Arsenal away (rags have been there) & the swamp re match will be much harder if they are clear in a title race.

Next week is a big game for City & for Mancini imo.

But, my dear depressed Ted (not saying that coming home yesterday one should be excited, mind!),
even assuming that we are not going to get what rags got at those places while they will certainly not drop points elsewhere (as they've already done) in the remainder of 23 fixtures!, what bring a very advanced reader of the Game, like You, to think that we are going to lose against them on Sunday, based on what we have seen of recent from either side?

I am sure we both are certain that Slur won't come at us as he has come at Reading, but don't You think that Bob is well aware and prapared to his "parking and counter" attempt, in the full awareness that Sunday game won't be a "win or die" game as it was last season's home derby with only 2 games further on?

furthermore, and not necessarily in addition to the above, what's if VanPussy get a medium term injury along the next 23 fixtures?
2/3 of the season ahead Mate, and we don't have even started to boost up....

Ted,
I rarely disagree with you pal but this time I think you may be getting a little caught up in the moment. There is still 2/3rds of the season and too many twists and turns to unfold. Last season we went clear then dropped, then came back to life. The rags raced ahead and then folded. even with a loss and a 6pt deficit, it ain't over Mate.

I didn't say it would be over, I said it would leave us with a big problem & some very very difficult tasks ahead, which it would.

I think we would struggle to pull six points back too. There is not much sign of the kind of scintillating relentless form that would be needed.

I am not depressed, not even remotely. I'm becoming unarsed, which is worse.

I didn't say I thought we would lose to Utd, in fact I think we will win.

If we do lose, of course we can still win the league, Van Persie may get injured & Utd may not get the same points they got last year without him, & we may not lose Vincent Kompany for a few games here & there & drop points etc etc. However, if we lose, Utd are in the driving seat & we will need some big performances to get the points back.

I was incorrect saying that they have been to Arsenal, but by this time next week, they will have been to City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton & Newcastle. So they have Arsenal (who are shit scared of them) & Spurs (who beat them but were absolutely fucking mullered at OT & very lucky). Now Utd aren't very good, so they will probably drop points: BUT NEITHER ARE WE. We will also drop points unless we improve, so consequently, we have two teams playing bang average standard football, topping the Premier League, both of whom can play better, one of whom has a much easier away fixtures list after next week. If we lose, we have to win twice, on the days where they lose, not drop behind at Everton or Arsenal & get something at OT. In those circumstances, they will be big favourites & we will be under pressure, especially Mancini, from both media & City fans.

It will not be over but it will be very very fucking difficult.

Next week is a very big game for City & Mancini.

I saw that unarsed bit, that's why I thought I tried to bring You into a perspective laugh.
I really don't get why a fine connoisseur of Footy and City Mad like You, should be, even remotely unarsed ahead of happy days like these.
Just because our talents are currently under-performing, entertainment wise mainly, maybe a tad unwittingly complacent, experiencing a spell of some average personal form and while facing tight locked oppositions 99% of the times, almost forced to line the same holding mids and fbs of recent?

I also am under the impression that Taggar has driven rags to start full steam and it will reamain all to see whether they will be coping with the current level all season long, irrespective of injuries.

Still main point is. imo, happy days ahead of all City Fans, irrespectively of whether Mancini will be facing pressure or not to earn his rich plate of beans.
As we know, Club are run by wise and cool businessmen, and whether they shall deem to change management or not (which I much doubt in all honesty) still happy days will be ahead of all City fans, game after game, season after season....

Why, particularly a non knee-jerk geezer like You, should be unarsed, then?

Because the football we have seen in the past, is much better than the football we are seeing now. It's been mostly dull and it's as if we are just trying to get this season over with, hoping we don't go backwards, rather than going forwards. In all of the recent seasons, in spite of differences & failures, each season has been a progression from the previous one, from Pearce, to sven, to Hughes, to Bob, to the title.

When we played Fulham away, I saw a touch of barca in our football & I was absolutely delighted. Since then, it's been largely uninspired & the greatest thing we are looking forward to, is the hope that we can go backwards, to playing like we did at the start of last season, rather than what I hoped & expected; that we would be even better this season than we were then.

In reality, the present City team couldn't lace the boots of the team which started last season. All in all, I'm just going to games hoping we can get back to what we once were, rather than seeing something new & exiting. None of the players have improved apart from zabaleta, & most are nowhere near as good.

In short, even if we win the double, if we do it as we are playing now, we have gone backwards & will be relying on the other teams to do the same. I was all for giving Dzeko, Mario etc chances this season, as they are champions, but it's not working & now I think we should spend some money in the transfer window & dump whichever players dont excell, (in the summer) to pay for it.

I find myself going to make a coffee during the games now , unheard of in the past.
The football we play these days is boring and predictable and if this is what I have to expect every week then I will miss games and go to the beach instead.

I have absolutely no doubt happy days are ahead, that will not change whatever. What I am saying is that watching City right now is as if the whole club is just sanding everything down before the next coat is put on. It's dull.

I honestly can't believe what I am reading. It's like sitting in a waiting room at the Samaritans reading a series of templates for suicide notes. I used to know a woman who was a natural worrier, if their wasn't a problem, she had to find one. She would get worried if there wasn't something to worry about.

Piccs mate, genuine question Pal. You have made it quite plain what you don't want but can you explain what you expected or what you thought was going to happen?

Piccs mate, genuine question Pal. You have made it quite plain what you don't want but can you explain what you expected or what you thought was going to happen?

When Bob first arrived I was appalled by his lack of courage and his inability to attack other teams, even when it was a necessity. (I believe he cost us a place in the CL in his first season and a semi final win over the shite) then I saw us play the sort of football that thrilled. but it didn't last and we contrived to seemingly throw away the title. once we won it I hoped for a return to that flowing football of Champions, but what we've seen instead is Mancini apply the brakes again.
What I expect to happen now is for our season to fizzle out.
let me ask you a question John. If mancini was manager, of lets say Sunderland, where do you think he would take them to?
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.
