Apart from Garcia I'd go with that. The ladies might like the look of him but he is well off the pace at the mo and can't pass for shit

We need to be able to stamp our authority on Arsenal. He's one of the few amongst us who can bully us into being in charge.

Definitely - Lescott has to play.

Considering Nastasic isn't very good at tackling and dealing with one-on-one situations, I'd be concerned about putting him up against Walcott on Sunday.

I think it's good that someone made a stand about the ticket prices. If Arsenal fans aren't going to do it, then it's better City fans (or any set of away fans, for that matter) do. It should get the fat cats in that smoke-filled boardroom thinking about writing cheques their arse can't cash

I agree with that bit.

To change things though it needs Arsenal fans to not buy the returned tickets. A big swath of unsold seats is the only way to get the message across.

To be honest with you chief - and please don't take this personally because you have been a really good contributor here - a lot of Arsenal fans are too busy bitching about us to see what the people running their club are doing to them. Your manager has been as instrumental as anyone in making it all our fault rather than his bosses'. It is an odd thing to do and I fail to see just what Monsieur Bean gets out of it. A share of the profits perhaps? It does nothing other than turning your fans against ours and that does no-one any favours.

It is a shame because football fans are football fans and Arsenal are still an entertaining team to watch, if not always in the way you used to be or in the way you'd like to be.

Definitely Lescott needs to play and not Nastasic. Clichy too and not Kolarov.

I am peaceful today and stay off the Carl/Ted own amusement. I'll be fine with either CBs and I genuininely think that our output at The Emirates shall come from the performance in the front 30 yards, rather than on our box.

We are indisputably a much better side and if we are capable to work our bollocks with the same directness and quickness as we have done in the last 2 games we will bully them, on the whole field.
I am cool.
As well as I have little doubt on the Suarez fate at the Swamp, after the instructions sent out by Slur Drunkard... a pathetic joke to say the least

and I, obviously couldn't agree more with this (for what matters)

Have to agree with the above. Plus Kompany has a better understanding with Lescott. We need to be tight at the back. (as the choirboys said to the priest....)

It would be Manciniesque, he does something mental in every game v Arsenal.

Just noted to my horror that Doug says Kolarov is fit. Bugger.

Postby Blue Since 76 » Sat Jan 12, 2013 4:40 pm

Just spotted an interesting fact - last time Arsenal won a trophy, there was no public version of YouTube. I know it's only been 7 and a bit years, but that puts it into some sort of perspective.

And if I was paying for the most expensive season tickets in the country (possibly any country?) I'd want to know where the money was going, as it's not on players or wages. Strange that Wenger never complains. Also strange that he's the second highest paid boss. Sure those facts aren't related.

Prediction for tomorrow - Bob to pull another strange one either in formation or players, we'll play like we're facing the Harlem Globetrotters and Bob'll be happy with a point.

Degenerate crack head's prediction for tomorrow - both teams have defensive issues so expect goals. That would be the team with the best defensive record vs the team with the 3rd best. You can see why Sky pay him to be an expert.

Make the most of this small window of success you are having because it won't last Class is permanent and form isn't and like your form in Europe there is only one way you are going and it's not up. I must admit it is good that the plastics from across the way have had there noses blooded but I'm afraid it won't last.
The Arsenal are an institution and always will be one of the biggest clubs in world football, how many clubs still have 40,000 fans on a season ticket waiting list even after 7 barren years ?
We were used to winning trophies for fun and while it lasted it was great but in reality terms nothing ever lasts for ever ( apart from class) .
Some of the best times I have had supporting this great club were in the mid 70s when we did not win anything, this was because you were with real passionate fans and could laugh and cry win or lose and have banter etc. Nowdays it's full of tourists and corporate fans who do not understand the fundamentals of supporting your club.
Anyway thanks for letting me post on here and if anyone wants to make some comments on our site " The Herd " you are welcome

Er, Mr herd... you haven't won that many trophies and it wasn't all 'for fun' .. The times have changed , so much so that the sad arse you have for a manager feels you have to charge high prices to stay with the top clubs.

Wenger has ruined your club, you can't even call on anybody coming through the youth teams. How many years now have you been fielding an entire team of foreigners week in week out ?

If you don't get champions league this year, which by the way is a very distinct possibility. The money dries up and like Liverpool the rot will set in.

Make way for more exciting teams like Spurs, Everton , Swansea . Your club , like united and Liverpool have fed enough at the top table. Others want a chance

I think there were rumblings, whispering of such a boycott when we lost to Swansea. The fact remains, strange as it may seem, that there ARE Arsenal fans waiting in the wings to take up any unpurchased tickets, even if this is in a staggering abundance.

This is when we're playing our worst football since 1995.

We can't even boycott properly :(

Talk of boycotting the games is all very well and obviously alot easier to do as an away fan but how many on here boycotted games during the Swales or Lee era's, not many I bet because at the end of the day most football fans want to attend the game live and not via telly .... it's druglike to be honest

Boycotting game is exactly what needs to happen but as you say people will still turn up regardless of the price which is the real route of the problem.

Let's say Liverpool or United fans started boycotting home games in protests of the price and there crowds dropped 20 thousand or so. You know fine well all the other fans would be talking about their shite fans and the empty seats. We need to all be in this together.

Nothing has ever angered me in terms of football than last season when Steve Bruce when he was still Sunderland manager came out and slammed his fans for not showing up. That prick has probably never paid to get into a game in his life and has been rewarded handsomly for being shite his whole managerial career yet he is telling the people who live in the poorest area of the country to splash out £40 quid in the middle of the recession to come watch his football team.
