Tonight he was always a threat and gave Traore real problems and of course it was a great goal at a fantastic time.
I think it was you Doug that said we MUST play SWP tonight because of Arsenals inexperienced left back? Spot on !
No idea whether I said that or not but one thing I was advocating is more time on the pitch for Vlad Weiss. SWP maybe first choice deservedly but he needs to know Vlad is pushing him. Hughes needs to have the bottle to give Vlad more cameos like tonight but not only if we are 2 up. I do beleive he is ready to start a game and tonight will only make him more up for it..

Im absolutely made up for SWP to have scored (AGAIN) - and loved his post match interview swith SSN - he refused to be drawn on his own performance and would only talk about the team. Top man.

Great day: Tevez's strike was brilliant. Nice to see SWP come back from the pasture, and Vlad!!! Wonder if Hughes is secretly trawling these boards for game time advice?!

I agree with the general point Nick is trying to make. People who slag off Shaunie don't really understand what he offers to team. Even when he isn't beating his fullback he is still always stretching opposition defence and their left fullback can't really overlap knowing they would have to pay for it sooner or later. And he always puts a shift tracking back.
I honestly don't understand why he has come under such critique when in my opinion he is having a good season. I sometimes wonder if people really understand what wingers job is like. Even world's best wingers play well maybe every other game. It's demanding position where you need to try and get past oppositio fullback over and over again. Sometimes you do, most of the time you don't.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I think only a few have ever said that SWP shud be dropped for Wiess. A lot (and I was one them) said that Shaunie shud
be given a rest when he looks very tired (and it showed in a few matches this season) and that Weiss shud be given a run of
10-15 mins or even a start against the likes of Burnely at home.
MH did that last night and it was the right decision and it worked. Weiss will get a lot of confidence from his performance
and the goal he scored and will ready to relieve SWP whenever he is needed.
MH also made the right decision last night by bringing on Komp for Tevez to defend the lead. That's what I and others said he shud have done against Hull. Maybe he does read our forum ??

Bellamy was lightening fast up and down all night. As for SWP, it was his night really and thankfully he managed to get past players which in the past few weeks he has struggled with. What he does deserve massive credit for is that the little fella takes more knocks and fouls than most do in the league and he hardly gets injured or has his confidence knocked. I hope both pull off the same performances on Saturday and we start to get back to winning form in the league. Mind a draw is not going to be the mass disapointment that it has been of late.
I haven't a fecking clue what I'm doing! Gillie come back man I want my sig back. As the Photobucket thingy gone?

Don't give me that shit.
Swp has played well below par for quiet a few games this season.
One game does not suddenly make him our best player once again.
Wait till next match?
See how he is then, and the game after.
He was shit hot tonight do not get me wrong but one game does not make a full season now does it?
Support is a lifelong thing, for anyone in a blue shirt whatever form they are in. SWP, has a hard task of any City player, he has a duty to protect the full back and then run his man down the touch line for 90 odd minutes, to turn your own words back on you for which I appologise in advance One or two iffy games do not make a shit player do they now? Look at Bellamy because of the workrate of SWP he IMO has thought I can do that and some.

Think it might have been me (as well). I said he wins games (or draws) but he gets bullied off the ball by bigger, experienced defenders so that game was definitely NOT the one to leave him out. He terrorised the guy.

Not to mention the three goals and two assists in the last four games.
SWP has been frustrating at times this season but I voiced my concern about that a month ago. Antone who says last night was his first good game for ages is a fucking tool.
He's been having good games for a while now, but last night he looked like a world class winger. Of course I want that every week from him, but I also want to be the owner of a 10 inch cock and new ferrari.
Keep some perspective.

Bellamy ran great but he is clearly not in the same form he opened the season in (I am not slagging him, he is still playing well, but he would have burried that SWP in the first half with his eyes closed in September)... and that brings me to my point...
SWP has had a poor run of form, to call him shit is a joke. The skill is there, he just hasn't executed. I look at last night as hopefully his return to form (and maybe even Micah's) and a lot more highlights coming from the right.
I also am excited about Weiss, but with SWP playing there is little room for him at this time.
I've come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I am all out of bubblegum.
