Did anyone watch the stream last night until Dunney lifted the trophy??
Now I know the whole ceremony at the end was utterly wank and not prepared at all, no one knew what was going on,
but
Dunney, ffs, waving it once at the fans and smiling sweetly is not how its done, you wanna be doing a Stuart Pearce style COME ON big up fist in the air jump about get everyone going, get the whole squad hoisting you in the air and going bananas, its the start of something new Dunney!!!!!!!
Dont stand there looking embarrassed to have actually finally managed to lift a trophy!

Is it this bad that we are now slagging Dunne for his inabilty to hold an insignificant trophy over his head??

Its a bit hard to get excited about winning a trophy from a 1 off friendly?
Anyway, Hughes out. He should have sorted it in training

........especially when it looks like someone just lifted it from a local market an hour before the game.
It would have been funny if he'd hoisted it above his head and screamed like an idiot, just like a Chumps league win though.
Has the world gone mad, ..............or is it me?

I can just imagine the munchen press having a field day with that.

This does not surprise me.
A few years ago we stuffed Olympiakos in the Thomas Cook Trophy. Match finishes and the players leave the field, clearly we need someone to raise the trophy, but all the players have done one. Luckily for the Thomas Cook rep, Musampa walking at 2 mph is last one towards the tunnel, Kiki goes to raise the trophy, looks completly bemused, another farce.

Actually I couldn't help think of the Thomas Cook trophy when we won this one. Let's go and win something proper now.

I'd love to pick up the League Cup, just so we can get one under the belt and we can bury that "win something first" attitude we are getting from other teams.

At least we beat Barcelona at home ;)
I know it was a friendly, but come on, 2 away wins last season and then we go to Barcelona in front of a massive crowd and win!!

Beating Barca at nou camp was a surprise for me!
Ok, it's just a friendly trophy but it's also a signal of our potentiality...
I think that Dunne hasn't enough quality to be in the starting squad...two or three games without mistakes can't make me change my opinion on him!

I watched the thing happen live instead, couldn't see Dunne, as the red stand was in the way for me, it was alright if I had been in the Grandstand instead of the Lateral stand where the flags were flying, but I could see him on the big screen, when we win more trophies it will get better for him, and he will improve his technique.

It'd be more embarrassing if Dunne had gone mental and the squad were bouncing round going nuts over this worthless pot. Imagine the slagging we'd get! It'd be deserved too.
The damn thing looked like a half-unwrapped, half-eaten easter egg. Maybe Dunney was disappointed that it wasn't, hence his subdued response.

You're all right he obviously hasn't done it before and will need some training before he lifts the next one!!!!!!
It was one of those embarassing moments so i'm glad he didn't go over the top. Just glad that I could wind up the rags with:-
"while you were getting beat at Turf Moor we were beating the European Champions in the Nou Camp in front of over 90,000"!
sheer class!
