We signed Gareth Barry on my birthday in 2009, 2nd of june, which by the way soon is coming up, just saying.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

My wife says that spanish newspapers are saying that City have bid for Navas.

Or wait, let's jus say it's doing some rounds on twitter.

Jesus of Navas? Still cant believe we would risk him with his baggage but in tricky we trust?

I am quietly confident we will get our business done early like a few summers ago and not fuck about like last summer.

We need to put down a marker that we are coming to win our title back. Its what the rags did and we need to do the same.

I agree and getting business done early (I hope) should be a top priority ... remove any doubt that we are backing our new man, and new(ish) system to succeed.

Jesus of Navas.

Her summary to me was as follows: They're writing that City have bid 1xx millions and Seville have said yey! Navas on the other hand wants to go to Real Madrid but Seville are saying nay! They want Real to match City's bid because they want to cash out on him before he goes.

Yeah...I was thinking the same. For now we've got: Zaba, Aguero, Tevez, Silva, Yaya, Garcia.

With Pellegrini and half the board, he'll think he's still in Spain. Until he looks out the window and notices that it's pissing down and freezing every day.

Navas has had one good season in his life and it wasn't his last. Not to mention the fact that he is 27 and will turn 28 4 months after the seasons starts.

Atleast with isco he is good with potential to be better. Navas peaked a few years back.

Please get a fucking move on City.

We don't need much, but we definitely need more depth to the squad. We're letting players go, but nobody coming in.

Perhaps there are deals being done behind the scenes, but I thought that last summer......

There were deals being done behind the scenes last summer.

That doesn't mean that the players sign. It has been the same every summer but sometimes our targets signed. Some players just sign, others play silly buggers or their agents want a bung or they fancy going somewhere else, like Alexis Sanches. But on that occasion we signed Aguero instead.

The strange thing last summer was that we were originally targeting forwards, then suddenly signed centre mids & defenders rather than any alternative forwards other than Sinclair. We will have had a whole shitload of attacking players scouted & contacted.

No idea why the priorities changed.

I don't think we'll see any players til Pellegrini arrives whatever, even if we have signed them already.

I don't think we have signed anyone yet. The club are shit at keeping things quiet and if we had anything done it would be all over the papers and sky about how many billions this takes us up to and how high our wage bill is, FFP and so on and so forth.
