I was very "pro-stability" when it looked like we were thinking of sacking Hughes....I thought he could have taken us further at the time and thought that appointing Mancini/sacking him was pretty harsh and potentially counterproductive.

I was completely wrong about that.

I lost faith to a great extent in Mancini at many points this season. I think (as I did with Hughes) that maybe he could have learned and got us "there" but I also have doubts that he was able/willing to change and him changing was necessary to achieve that.

Accordingly, I am very happy that the club has taken the more difficult decision to implement change. Like Carl and others, I am really excited about the summer and next season. I don't think others have no right to question/be sceptical but the level of negativity from some people I don't quite understand. Each to their own I guess but i am perplexed.

But are people really that negative? I don't see that. I mean even Piccs is happy now, that hasn't happened since... I actually don't know. I find that we as a group of supporters are more positive than ever. There is little or no bad blood left since the Hughes-divide of 2009. Admittedly, some will remain very negative because they really like Mancini but I think even most of us, yeah I liked him, can see that he's gone and that there's no reason to hold anything against the new manager and hopefully not the backroom staff either. It's all about what's behind that door number three that is the word "holistic" but we'll see that in a near future.

As with anything , we can only go on what we have heard so far and maybe it will all end in tears , but I wouldnt put a penny on it going tits up.
I feel more positive now than I ever did do since the CL exit debacle - it feels great right now and Im fuckign excited as ever.

Carl that's the crux of it. I feel so enthusiastic and excited for the future again. There are guarentees of course, but I suspect this guy is gonna be a breath of fresh air. Couple that with the obvious continued ambition being stated from senior management and it looks like we have an even brighter future.
Renewed today. The cynic in me says maybe now the deadline has passed, the positive noises will stop, but I think not.

Every point you make sums up my view perfectly and it is possible to have very warm feelings toward Roberto whilst supporting the club's decision.

The Chairman's and Soriano's interviews cannot help but make you realise that we are in the best of hands.

I was gutted for Cook - but Soriano seems to be a much bigger player on the soccer stage, including Uefa, and is a step up.

It really isn't about me being right or wrong that pleases me. I've been wrong about enough stuff in football and particularly City not to let it worry me. I thought Frank Clark was a good appointment and that Buster Phillips was gonna thrill us for years. It's a funny old game afterall.

I'm pleased because we have got rid of a manager who bored the tits off us with a negative style of play. I also think we could have more trophies than Bob won with us. At the same time I do appreciate the hurdles he did overcome with us.
