Don't be silly, you are entering the Piccs realms of unreality. We won the title over 38 games and all the events they brought , the last few kicks in the last game made it all the more pleasureable to see Fergies face, never mind the new duncan edwards reaction.

The wins are just to be expected, don't you know, and we should never have a flat game ever! You hit the nail on the head totally Colin, calling the manager that delivered us silverware after decades of drought a coward was plain rude (and bollocks) and that is my issue with piccs.

But we had a helluva lot of flat games. That is why we never really competed for the title this season, right fron the start.
And yes when you turn up at Anfield or the Emirates with a squad like ours, but never seriously try to attack, I'd say that was cowardly.

The cracks appeared before the turn of the year. He did his best to throw it away and then gave up on it after another no show at The Emirates. He opened talks with Monaco instead.

I think what both are saying, is that we made remarkably hard work of that season whichever way you look at it.

A title is a title is a title, whether it's won with the last kick, 4 months to spare - nobody is denigrating the achievement of winning the title, but I think the whole issue is that there is a recognition that we should really never have had to win that QPR game, and that a fair bit of the 6 months that preceeded it was very concerning time as we saw the manager come up against problems he didnt seem to have the answer for.

There are the stories like that of lescott who publicly stated that he and vinny ignored the managers instructions to stay back to go forward in the last minute of the qpr game - little snippets like that set a context of a manager prone to doing some really fucking odd things whilst in charge. Then Lescott is bombed out of the squad for a 19 year old, coincidence?

If lescott is to be believed, there is some credence in saying that had the players listened to mancini, we wouldnt have won the league.

BUT, over 38 games we were in the end the best team so Mancini will rightly always be celebrated as the bloke who presided over it, and as time fades the only recollection people will have will be of the most thrilling finish to a league title in history.

The issue here seems to be that some people have clearly already committed ONLY that fact to their memory - with no objective concerns about the little things that led to the title.

Nedums' career suicide on soccer AM were 2 seasons earlier wasnt it? He was loaned out to Sunderland in 2010/11 after his comments about Lescott not being played despite being fit in the months before the 2010 world cup.

Forget all my issues with Mancini, when lescott said what he did I honestly thought he was just talking with genuine excitement about the events of those last few minutes (I think that was on soccer am too), and I didn't see it as a dig at the boss, just more 'this is how it happened' - but as a fan, comments like those have gotta be worrying.

He certainly seemed to pay for those comments last season though - whether it worked out or not, sticking a kid like nasty in at real madrid in favour of our best defender from the previous season is something only somebody trying to make a point would do.

I've no reason to doubt what joleon said - if for no other reason than he has had loads of opportunities to be a cunt over his treatment this season, and all season he has said the right things about his situation at the club and supported nasty, when he could have easily forced the issue of a move. I might be reading it completely wrong though, who knows?
