No, sorry mate winning fuck all that season at Real doesn't come into it. Thats the sort of simplistic view some elements of the media are peddling for us now, saying he will be automatically sacked next season if he wins nothing, which I dont believe to be true, just as it wasnt true at madrid.

There is a real prospect that Jose could galvanise the talent chelsea have and have a great season, win the league with say 95 points. Would it really be a failure if he lost the league with 90+ points for example and qualified us out of the champions league group or better?

I'd agree it would be a cause for concern if he lost it by a wide margin of points and was dumped out of the champs league without a whimper.

As I said, the brass at madrid were on record that in any other situation (Maureen's availability) he would not have been removed as manager.

His "failure" at RM "wasn't his fault", it was down to their structure:
"I didn't have a voice or a vote at Madrid. They sign the best players, but not the best players needed in a certain position. It’s no good having an orchestra with the 10 best guitarists if I don’t have a pianist. Real Madrid have the best guitarists, but if I ask them to play the piano they won’t be able to do it so well. He [Pérez] sold players that I considered important. We didn't win the Champions League because we didn't have a squad properly structured to be able to win it."[
So lets hope he has a voice and gets a vote here.
Although is that the model they're punting?

It's an interesting factor but one that I would not think applies to us, as yet. At Real, they bought and then ordered the manager to play them, fit them in the system, whereas we will be looking to bring in players that have been agreed with the coach to fit the system.

Pellers will be sound and will bring a unified and friendly approach with him. The only problem I can see is if we have ego's running wild but I'm pretty certain that if it happens, Txiki will deal with that. Just like he did with Mario.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

How long does it actually take to appoint a manager?

Thought these contracts were exchanged weeks ago? or was that more fantasy?

What can they be talking about for so long?

I hope they retousché his pictures a lot when they post them on the homepage. His wrinkly in a very scary way, not at all like a cosy grandfather.

This is also very scary, it's like his facial expression is screaming out "why don't you love me!?":

It's annoying that this is dragging so much.

But on the other hand it has been great to read "this week" then "next week" in the Sunday papers and then "next few days" AND THEN "this weekend" in the papers. Showing themselves for the utterly clueless scattershot wannabe in the know journo cunts they really are.
