I agree; Navas keeps talking it up, but nothing official. Meanwhile Fernandinho was bagged and pressed within hours of speculation.

Navas, like Isco, is with the Spanish squad in America right now and then goes off to the Confederation Cup. His unveiling will probably take longer. Fernandinho, on the other hand, is doing fuck all right now so he was able to get his done quickly.

Wouldn't we complete and announce the deal now, with the interview and presser happening after their respective tournaments?
Just like signing someone before the window opens (goetze) and then all the other shizzle afterward.

Interesting final paragraph, if true:
Real Madrid have stepped up their pursuit of Edinson Cavani. Despite the fact that talks with the players’ representatives have been ongoing for some time (and the fact that reports insist the Uruguayan is set for a move to Chelsea or Manchester City), the Santiago Bernabéu club remains hopeful of completing his signing.
On Monday, ‘Los Blancos’ met for talks with figures close to Cavani, who is currently on international duty as Uruguay prepare for the Confederations Cup (Óscar Tabárez’s men begin their campaign in Brazil against Spain on 16 June). The meeting was scheduled for two weeks ago, but was delayed by José Mourinho’s departure from Madrid, the La Liga side’s so far fruitless search for a replacement and the re-election of Florentino Pérez as president. When it finally took place, Real Madrid began their offensive for the Napoli man.
In an interview from the Uruguayan camp, Cavani said: “I’ve got a contract with Napoli but I’m listening to what other clubs have to say. It would be a pleasure to work with Mourinho [by then confirmed as Chelsea manager]. At this moment in time they haven’t made an offer for me but I’m familiar with the work of Mourinho and other trainers like Pellegrini, for example. Being trained by them one day would be a pleasure.” He continued: “Interest from big clubs is a huge honour for me because it’s something I’ve dreamed about since I was a child. Once the Confederations Cup is over we’ll see what happens.”
Monday began with rumours that the presentation of Mourinho as Chelsea boss would be accompanied by the announcement that the Premier League side had signed the Napoli player. However, this went no further than social media speculation. Nevertheless, leaks coming from sources close to Chelsea revealed on Monday evening that the West London club’s offer would be 45 million euros plus a talented member of their squad. Madrid will be forced to fight hard to secure Cavani’s services, because Mourinho will be intent on his capture.
Reports have also claimed that Cavani is set to arrive at Manchester City. However, the Premier League club are said to have been angered by the player, whose services they believed they had secured weeks ago. In the face of his hesitation in putting pen to paper, City are said to have had second thoughts about his signing.

If he doesn't what to come, it's disappointing. But then we shouldn't pursue it. Focus on Isco and re-sign Tevez. I still say Benteke would be great 4th striker option and half the cost of Cavani.

I'm abit fed up with tevez is bullshit. He's good but cavani looks better. I'd rather we sell tevez an make some money rather than let him go for free next year and also sign some one as good or better this year ie caravan.

Vaguely interesting summer review on City here, harking back on last season & suggesting transfer targets though most of them are stating the obvious

Agreed. Altho benteke shouldnt cost more than 17-20m I dont believe so more like one third of cavani.
I'd rather not buy any strikers keep tevez and get another left sided player in defense to replace Mase's BF.
Isco I feel is a must tho.
Barry and Nasri will need to show some grit to get matches if that happens because Milner has a future as does rodders under pellegrini. Crowded first world football problems. Good to be blue on a wednesday on the summer.

I think that Cavani will follow the EGO to Stamford Bridge and because of that getting Tevez to extend his contract is a must imo.Really do want the Isco transfer to happen and hopefully a decent defender as well so it's a no regarding Pepe in that respect.

Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.
