This Weeks Other Games

Postby Beefymcfc » Sat Aug 17, 2013 10:34 am

Well, thank feck for that, back to the football. It's been a long closed season, especially with our signings coming in early, but we're now here and I'm really looking forward to the upcoming season starting with Hughes trip to the Dippers. I hear he's one of the favourites to be sacked and for Stoke to go down, let's see how he sets up.

You know the script, keep all talk of the weeks games in one place.

Come On!!!

Today

Liverpool v Stoke 12:45
Arsenal v Aston Villa 15:00
Norwich v Everton 15:00
Sunderland v Fulham 15:00
West Brom v Southampton 15:00
West Ham v Cardiff 15:00
Swansea v Man Utd 17:30

Sun 18 Aug 2013

Crystal Palace v Tottenham 13:30
Chelsea v Hull 16:00

Wed 21 Aug 2013

Chelsea v Aston Villa 19:45
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

Been a long time coming but so glad football is back!

Not really fussed about the games today but still meeting my mates at the pub to watch them shortly.

The real football starts on Monday obviously :-)

BT Sport have got tony Pulis as a pundit.

I suppose it's fair enough if he's just going to talk about how teams may set up to spoil games, but if he starts talking about how teams play football, I think I'll put my foot through the fucking screen.

Liverpool haven't won an opening match for the last 5 years, according to BT.

Glad to see kolo get the first start. I'm also a big Sturridge fan ever since he was with us. Exciting player. In all honesty if I had to pick another top team to follow it would be pool. I think they have a good squad.

I do like that BT have employed Halsey to give a ref's perspective.

Only if you squint your eyes down the little holes in the earpiece of phone mate.
For the likes of the Dazzler in Oz, the best reception is through the mouthpiece (something to do with the upsside down thingy they have down there).
Apparently the mobile version only works if you keep moving about.
It doesn't work at all if you are still using your old gas driven phones, you will need to update Beefers.

Would I lie to you Mate?

Ter'wat ;-)

Can Stoke acually pass/control a ball?

No Mate....usually the ball just passes them. I don't see much changing there this season. Glad to be of help.
It's the new season and I'm feeling all giddy!

If we can't beat this shower come September there will be something seriously wrong, they can't even get the ball out of their defensive third.

So who to go for Whinging asbo FC v Jugheads? Apart from Hughes I've always had a soft spot for the boys from the Britannia going back to the early 70s (boys from the Victoria as it was then ) so happy to see LFC drop points and babbling Owen shut up.

Stoke plays a lot calmer than any of Hughes's teams did, including us. Their build-up is not as straight as for example ours was during Sparky. I have no idea if this is a temporary thing though. Just a casual observation.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Lump it long and hope Crouch gets on the end of it isn't straight?

Well can't say that wasn't coming.

Stoke's belief is that fullbacks are for other people.
