Just watched the game again and really can't see how anybody can say he was anything other than hopeless.
He gave the ball away time after time and messed up a forward move by passing sideways/backwards more than once.

I thought he was alert, enthusiastic, worked hard and was one of our better players. I know we all see things differently but I'm a bit surprised by how extreme your OP was.

KK, some of the replays seen during the match showed him making some strong efforts on set pieces on both sides of the pitch. Maybe from the speed of play it looked that way, but I remember saying to my friend how hard he was fighting.

Thought he was quality today and probably MOTM. The sooner we hit Monday and he's still here the better.

Had a better match than Clichy did against Cardiff, and didn't cost us the game. Pretty much all we could have asked of him really. I'd say it was one of his better games. The thing is, I still don't trust him to do it every game.

If we're pointing fingers at Cardiff, I'd like to volunteer Zabaleta as the main culprit, not Clichy.

He wasn't playing leftback at the time though.

I can't stand to watch his inability to either close down quickly or jockey. He gets stuck in no mans land too often for a full back. He is good enough to face the likes of hull, palace etc at home but against any top side he's way below par.

Seems pellers dropped the wrong full back for me, zabba should definately have been dropped (assuming micah was available), i didnt think clichy was that bad defensively at cardiff, and id far rather have a strong defender on the pitch at the moment than a flying fullback the way we have been defending.

I was very surprised to see clichy dropped for Kolarov, wonder if it was for a shop window?

The Cardiff wide players ran past him on occasion, as if he wasn't there.

He had a mare at Cardiff by his standards, I'm still a Clichy fan though.

He's a decent player to have in home games where we're going to have all the ball. Wouldn't trust him to play against anyone half decent on the road.

Like against the rags in the FA Cup semi when he smashed it?

I suspect that since Yaya has hit some free kicks that we will be looking to move Kolarov in the next two windows.

I did watch the Hull game. He was absolutely fine. Far from our worst player on the pitch and saved us at the end with a cracking tackle. He's had some shockers In the past but as I said that game was not one of them.
