Luck, because if Panti's unlucky he will be at fault for one and that'll make it easier for Pelligrini to drop him. Mental strength because there's a really sad precedent of good, if not even some great, keepers really going to pieces and never recovering. I guess we will have to wait to see if Hart really has the strength of character to get back to a performer who, at his previous best, would be a keeper virtually all PL teams would want.
Couple of people have mentioned De Gea and it's only a year ago that he was being dropped by Utd. He's bounced back and so I hope will Joe.
When I first used to go to City everyone in the media (as such there was) and many fans used to slag off big Joe Corrigan, for being error prone. He fought back and worked really hard and became an immense keeper. Hart is still relatively young for a keeper and I hope he can take inspiration from his namesake's experience to get back to be a deserving City and England number one.
i'd love for Joe to be the keeper we know he can be. I think he's honestly also been a little bit fucked over because of this defensive shuffling/injuries sitch as well. Even a top keeper can look average at times with a backline he doesn't trust. I think what Joe's actually been guilty of with his gaffes is trying "too hard" to make up for it, the Nasti incident as a prime example. Lack of trust is the enemy of every goalie out there. It's a big mental game and whether it's hockey, or football it's the one thing that can make a goalie who's fantastic have some really average nights out and i think that's where Joe is....no trust in his defense, and losing faith in himself to react properly...overthinking shit can kill you at that position more than any other.
Note this as a the 'duh' post of the day please folks.
