It's Fergie and the owners, the former by staying too long, the latter by buying the club.

The side is aging rapidly. Van A*se is going grey, Wooney is having carpets refitted . Vidic is slow. Giggs travels to the games for free on the local bus.

The mainstay of the English squad is rubbish, Jones and Smalling are battlers and not much more. Young is a diver , wayne wants out.

One cannot blame Gollum for the rubbish he inherited. However he can be blamed for making a stupid decision to take the job on.

The other day Doug said they had a good run upto Christmas, i wonder what he thinks now ?

The club, inspite of very high turnover is in a mess. No youth coming through, massive , massive foreign debt and mid table ! I'm sure they have other issues. I blame the Romans ( not the Chelski boss!).

I still think they have 4 easy games coming up and will probably take 12 points to start their inevitable rise to the top.The love in with Moyes where every football person says he will succeed ,just give him time will carry on.

Long may I be wrong.I watched the Newcastle game closely and was genuinely surprised at how poor they really are.It also show how much they have been relying on shrek this season. He has won plenty of points for them on his own so god knows where they would be without him.

I am in our Sale office today, rags usually quiet. They can’t even use the cricket as an alternative topic to football today, so have been mainly talking about mortgages….

A few snippets though:

‘I will be happy just to qualify for the CL – we should do that because Chelsea are crap’
‘City will be main threat to Arsenal if they win on Saturday’ – ‘bright’ guy this one and he didn’t actually use the word ‘City’, but I knew what he meant.
‘I will give him a season and a half – a chance to make some signings next summer’

My favourite was the one who just snorted when asked about the game.

Strange that half the people on here were convinced that Utd had a better squad than us last season, now it's almost a joke squad.

Even amongst City fans, Ferguson was able to brainwash people.

There was very little difference between the way Utd played the last two games & the way they have played many games in the past two seasons.

The difference is the oppo & the ref now see the actual team they are playing against rather than the myth created by Ferguson & play accordingly.

Strangely enough, Utd fans themselves were less brainwashed than many others. Most I spoke to knew they were shit & said so.

Your reference to 'rise to the top', conjours up a variety of images Doug.

Ferguson has been nominated for the 'Coach Of The Year' award.

Hasn't coached for 7 months.

on the evidence of Moyes' attempt, he should win it hands down for creating league champions out of that rabble.

I feel any suggestion that Moyes is doing a bad job is harsh, he is doing a great job.

When you look at Rags side what do they have?
They have a good keeper I'll give them that and an alright defense but look at their midfield! Valencia is passed it, Cleverley is shite, Giggs needs a walking stick, Jones is ok at getting in the way but can't do anything on the ball. Young is shite, Nani has the odd good game in ten. Kagawa looks half decent but clearly not enjoying playing under Moyes. Their only 'good' midfielder is Carrick imo.

RVP as well is not as good as he was last season, Welbeck- the less said the better. Hernandez is pretty decent but underplayed.

Rooney is their only real world class talent anymore imo and is absolutely carrying the side. Without him, I don't even think they'd make the top half.

Keeping him is the only good thing Moyes has done for them imo.

Blimey, that's extreme. I never felt like that even in the last days of Frank Clarke. Hiding in the wardrobe was my limit.

A South African United fan comitted suicide over the weekend think i remember an Arsenal fan doing the same a few years back.Obviously the poor guy had some serious issues going on it has to take more than just a few bad football results.

Is Moyles going to get a stand named after him? If he keeps this up, I think we should name one of our extensions in his honour.

I was in the pub with 4 rags yesterday - meal with friends. Everytime they discuss 'football', I always want to sit with the wives as it's Giggs this, Rooney that, Cantona the other...

Yesterday they said, "No football talk today". I didn't say a thing but grinned inanely - was a great meal. Then after a few drinks, the football topic came out, I thought I would share some quotes with you...

"He has to go" - I defended Moyes of course.
"It's not the position that bothers me, it's the way we play".. all a bit dull so far I know.

Then... "I mean, what shall we do next year? Sale Sharks are shite, I guess it has to be Altrincham Ice Hockey?"
Followed by the inevitable (and genuinely worrying), "I'm not joking, I'm deadly serious, I am going to start supporting City" (to which I gloatingly retorted, "Glory hunter!".

But then it started getting offensive, "The worst thing about it is this is is how it feels to be Citeh"

Then I kicked off, "Hang on there just a minute, when you have suffered multiple relegations, multiple management failures and been the butt of every joke from us, the whole of The South and the far East for 20 years, then, and only then can you get anywhere near close to making that claim. The only problem is, you have to win The Premier League in the 90th minute after being 2-1 down to top that. Somehow, I don;t think that time is on your side. You'll never know how good it is to be City. I pity you all!"

Then I took a large sip of ale. Probably the best gulp of beer I've had since 13/5/12.
