Zabba injury update

We have had problems in defence all season, as much to do with organisation as personnel, & everyone is quite calm about the possibility of throwing yet another stranger into an already fucked up backline, which tries to play offsides in its own penalty area & gets it wrong 3 or 4 times per game.

Of course it wasn't a good idea playing Zabba, it was monumentally fucking stupid.

In cricket (no longer interested in cricket but..) there is a general rule; look at the score, then imagine if a couple more men were out & is it still a good score or would you be in deep shit ?

Well imagine Vinny missing for Liverpool if Zabba doesn't make it.

Plus Lescott was doing calf exercises later in the game yesterday & struggling, Kolarov also picked up a slight strain. Nastasic is made of fucking glass, like Richards.

What if we get two semi finals v the rags coming up ? We would pick up injuries in that period, without a shadow of a doubt. We need to protect the players whenever possible, to prevent unnecessary strains.

Playing Zabba two days after the Arse game, with this schedule coming up, was crass stupidity, & playing VK wasn't far behind .

What makes you say people are calm Ted? Personally speaking in very worried about what we're going to do at right back for the Liverpool game. I'd imagine most are and that's why alternatives are being discussed.

I agree with you on it being stupid to play Zaba last night, particularly as his usual back up is already injured.

I agree Ted. Word for word I agree. I would give Jimmy a run at RB on Saturday. We always seem to have injuries against the dippers. I hate them more than United for some reason so Im a tad cross with Pellers

because injuries can be predicted...
the logic in this thread is up there with the press slating the count last week for not putting aguero on for the last few mins because he was guaranteed to score
btw what are tonight's roll over lottery numbers?

Not even remotely similar.

It's about risk assessment, why risk a player that is going to be overworked in the coming weeks because his usual back up is unavailable, especially when there's an able deputy considering the quality of opposition we were facing.

Were you not surprised to see Zaba's name on the team sheet last night? I was, I was convinced Dedryck would be starting.

This.

So all this 'rotation' stuff is fucking bollocks then ? We should just just put the same 11 out for every game ?

Blaming pelligrini for picking a strong side in a quarter final. Lovely.

Who's doing that? Are you telling me it would've been a weak side with Boyata instead of Zaba?

Did you expect to see Zaba in the starting XI?

No.
If he picked a weaker side and lost there would be LOADS on here moaning about it. Injuries can happen any time, we can't wrap all our players in cotton wool all the time. There are always injuries, were just extremely unlucky that two fullbacks are out together.

And do you not think risking your first choice right back is a bit silly considering the second choice right back is currently out which means he's going to be needed in the busy Xmas period? Regardless of Zaba's injury it was still foolish to play him imo considering the schedule we have ahead.

Wind it in, absolutely no need for the insults.

He couldn't know but he could assess the risk and take into account the fixture list and plan accordingly.

It would have been a 'strong side' without playing our only fit right back, you thick cunts.

THAT is the point.
