Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

*** January Transfer Window ***

Postby AG7 » Wed Jan 01, 2014 9:39 am

And so it begins, the window is now open and here's the first in already at Chelsea:

@ESPNFC: BREAKING: Chelsea have announced the signing of Bertrand Traore on a four-and-a-half-year deal
[tweet]418313884156440577[/tweet]

I think Arsenal will talk and talk during this window without any major signings but Chelsea and Liverpool both will strengthen. Scum will panic buy while we I am not sure of, if we do any business, it'll be a surprise for all as it's probably been done very professionally and quietly behind the scenes.

Didn't Chelsea sign Traore two months ago?

I don't see City doing any business this January, and I'm totally fine with that.

Right after the takeover this was a super exciting time, but I prefer being excited about the football rather than the transfer windows :)

Our weakest positions are centrehalf and left back. Okay, it's pretty fucking obvious, but if we're going to sign someone in another position I wouldn't mind a third central midfielder who can do the job of Fred and Yaya, as none of our current backups are even close to their level.

WIth the constant injuries to Jovetic and Aguero (cf last season as well as this) and the fact that MP doesn't seem to rate Guidetti it seems to me that someone of an attacking/scoring nature would be quite nice.

Mata will be huge wherever he goes ... Arse has already bought Ozil so they won't go for him in all likelihood but will the Rags be tempted ... Chelsea will probably want Rooney the other way ... we have Silva and Nasri in top form and don't think will even consider anyone in that area ... would have considered if Nasri was in his last years form but this year he has been immense ...

Mata is good but we dont need him. We have Silva and a rejuvenated Nasri. Rather put our money into the defence and get a solid Centre Back and Left Back but doubt we will do anything until the summer. Besides we cannot afford to buy someone and wait for them to adapt. Go forward with what we have.
