You have to admire the job Martinez is doing at Everton getting them to a top 4 berth already after Moyes had held them back for 10 years . PMSL

Teams now relish playing at OT. Relegation is too much to hope for. A place in the Europa League - resulting in a sapping 180 games next season and trips to places you have never heard of - will do me.

I agree that to have them playing in the Europa League would be preferable to them not playing in it. How far down do the Europa League places go these days though ?

I'd rather have them finish second. The pain of that is far greater than languishing in 5-7th place or mid table.

They're showing how poor they've been for a couple years and without the bacon/ref/bending over effect you can see why it made last season so bitter to get turned over so easily in the league by the likes of them.

Forza City.

Nail on head ted. Even our own fans said things like they had a better squad than us last season as a defence for our poor season.
The didn't, they had the same poor squad that they do now.

Nah. I want to see them totally outclassed, 30-odd points behind the Mighty City. See how the cunts fucking deal with that.

I agree, I don't want to see them anywhere close. Honestly if I was given a button to push that would cause them to be immediately liquidated and no longer exist as a football club -- you bet I'd push it. As quickly as possible and many times to ensure the deed is done.

I don't want to see them ever win a game again, and the lower they can fall the better.

I'm not interested in us competing with them for anything, its far more fun this year competing with Arsenal and Chelsea.

We had that 2 years ago. It was fun (understatement) snatching the league away from them on the last day of the season on GD, but I feel now is the time to try sth different. Seeing them take part in the competition they have belittled for so long, when us, Chelsea, Spurs or Liverpool were in it, playing for the "4th place trophy", which they took the piss out of Arsenal for so long... will do for me. Possibly struggling to attract the very top names, having to overpay, because they won't be able to offer Champions League football, never mind a domestic title challenge. Looking over their shoulder & seeing Newcastle, Southampton & maybe the likes of Stoke from time to time.

Yes, please.

Time for a random view injection:

stoney10 (Manchester United): i just turned down tickets for the swansea game on sunday.ive wasted enough hours/cash going to old trafford this year .enough is enough!!!!

niceguy (Manchester United): Could all these stupid players just shut up rather than talk garbage.if i were the manager you'll be plying your trade in the non league

resol (Manchester United): Sorry guys, but this is simply not a squad that only needs 2 or 3 quality signings. 6 players the wrong side of 30. Cleverley, Ando, Valencia, Young and Nani are mediocre at best. Kagawa fast becoming another Veron. IMHO the jury is still out on Hernandes and Welbeck. Fletcher's return is not going to turn our season around. Truth be told the team needs to be completely rebuilt. Forget about 7 or 8 top signings in one transfer window - it ain't gonna happen. It will take a good 2 - 3 years and we will have to first do some serious culling. So fasten your seat belts, we're in for a bumpy ride and things will get a whole lot worse before they get better.

oh sit down (Manchester United): We all harping on about no investment and a lack of vision from Fergie. I believe that he thought Anderson, Cleverly and Nani were the future and lets be honest we all did. Players also take time, i.e: Ramsay to find their feet. They have failed miserably and now we are suffering.

sir matts man (Manchester United): I'm afraid a top four place and therefore Champions League looks to be disappearing quicker by the day lads. My biggest fear now is that attracting top class talent also becomes more unlikely and we therefore drop into free fall mode. Mid table appears to be where we're at if we are not careful, what a thought!!!

lonely striker (Manchester United): DM should be buy good players to proof the hard working players that United means business. If DM is not doing that I see Rooney, RVP, Kagawa,Evra and Zaha (Who never getting a chance to proof himself) all leave in summer and we end up with the deadwood what should be gone seasons ago!!

Is the Intertoto Cup still going? the rate they avoid yellows and reds still, they should get into it via the fair play league!

I was wondering what the media storm would be like if we had bought Zaha? No one seems to mention it!

Moyes has said that Howard Webb denying Man Utd a penalty was the worst decision he's seen since he decided to spend £27.5m on Marouane Fellaini

De Rossi suicide averted:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... de-2983193

The Italian enforcer says that a switch to the Red Devils would have left him on the brink of taking his own life

Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi has claimed that a move to Manchester United would have left him SUICIDAL.

United reportedly made a summer move for the Italian, but the 30-year-old rejected the chance to make the switch to Old Trafford.

The Italian international has since claimed that the move wasn't the right one, as a transfer to the champions would have left him contemplating suicide.

According to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri, De Rossi said: "It was a good thing that I didn't go to Manchester United, now I would have committed suicide.

"Last summer I didn't feel comfortable, I didn't recognise myself in the relationship with my teammates and with the fans."

United have struggled to adjust to the absence of Sir Alex Ferguson and currently sit 11 points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal in seventh.

They have lost four times as Old Trafford already this season and were beaten 2-1 by Tottenham Hotspur at home on New Year's Day.

Meanwhile, Roma made a flying start to their Serie A campaign winning their first 10 games and conceding just once in the process.

They remain unbeaten this term under Rudi Garcia and currently trail leaders Juventus by five points.

De Rossi's side return from their winter break with a crunch game away to Juve on Monday.
