I'm absolutely giddy with excitement about the way things are going with the RAGs - I am going to try not to get too carried away though, and with that in mind I will take it one defeat at a time.

Doing a fine job, all we need is for him to not get a T4 place and he should be given a 10 yr extension for me.

Time for a panic update:

skywalker (Manchester United): lets stop dreaming. we did this in the summer and we got caught. fabregas was never going to leave barca. and why do we think koke will leave his hometown club who are challenging for the Spanish title and the team still in the champions league? like I keep saying. look elsewhere, is gundogan fit? following lewandowski's open defection. expect more Dortmund players to leave. I know we wont get reus now, but gundogan remains an option. if we cant get him, what abt cabaye? 22 mil and deal done. don't get what moyes is saying that we cant get players. cabaye would have been a better addition than fellaini. and a fit carrick apart, I think he's better than all our other midfield. we ned to get layers that can start in the first 11, not bring in squad players. we have a huge squad. lastly, one must signing for me. Arturo vidal of juventus. the Italians are out of the champions league and sitting comfortably at the top of their league. good money is hard to resist. good players are harder for us to resist. look david, you dotn need 100 scouts to tell you where good players are. wake up, wake up.

zico&best : What a complete meltdown. In the mean time there is a transfer window open who can corrects quite a lot in the team. There is a playmaker avaiable out there,Rubin Kazans Bibras Natkho. This player breathes class. He is a free agent also.He is an absolutely bargain for us.Rubin Kazan is a club in limbo and i would raid them for their Roman Eremenko too he seems awful good and can play at several positions in midfield.Out with Cleverley and Valencia and you would get great impact on team.I would also change Young for Montpellier Remy Cabella. Now thats a start, doesnt cost much at all and this will give us the 4th spot for sure and good build for the future.Next thing is defence. We sure could change 3 players there also.Dont worry, there are plenty of good players avaiable right now the trouble is make Moyes&Egg alerted about it.Too bad i dont understand a jot about Scottish language or else i would call him

steve1332 (Manchester United): It is sickening to hear the "RIGHT" players not available during the winter. Were Fabregas available in the summer? He was never available. Are Strootmant available as well as Thiago Alcantara? Both yes but Utd did not try on Strootman front. We have to be realistic since with SAF we are not longer able to attract superstar like before. Obviously Robert Lewandski chosen Bayern Munich since he can guarantee a lot of success in Bundalisga at least and have a shot of Champion League with all the super stars they have. We had actually going to unrealistic targets in the summer and overlooked those players we can sign. The manager has to be realistic and sign players who see joining UTD as a step up. I do not see Koke want to join UTD since A Madrid is doing so well in Spanish League. But one ultimate problem is not very sure is Moyes is the right man or Ed Woodward is the right man to carry out the tasks. I got a feel if we lose to Sunderland tonight, Moyes might be sent packing by Glazer. He might be a good coach but till now he has not show he got what it takes to become Manchester United manager which can be the toughest job in the football world

skywalker (Manchester United): FA cup, gone. BPL, almost gone. Champions league, barring a miracle, gone. league cup, probably gone. question, when will moyes be gone?

petethemeat2 (Manchester United): So we have money to spend but who should we be buying ? I hope our scouts have looked at some of the following , perhaps not so high-profile, players as prospective United players. Garay from Benfica, who we have been linked with, is the no-nonsense type of defender we need at the moment as is Zapata from AC Milan who has a knack of getting in the way of everything. I have watched Napoli for the last month or so mostly with a view to seeing what Hamsik is all about and they have a guy called Dries Mertens who has been exceptional for them over this period. Don't know much about him but hope we are , at least, having a look. Also think we should be approaching some older players that have a few years of top football in them still like Schweinstiger, Sneijder, Pirlo, Alonso maybe even a guy like Miroslav Klose who score goals wherever he goes, just to ensure we stay in the CL places for another season or two while the younger players we already have and will hopefully continue to buy, fulfill their potential. I think we have some players like Nani, Hernandez,Kagawa, Anderson that still have something to offer, just not at United, and we should be using them as bargaining chips

ika (Manchester United): I'm not sure I want Moyes to even turn it around based on the style of play we are witnessing right now long balls, get it out wide, hit and hope crosses, run run run with no thought of pressing as a team. If he does hold onto the job what kind of football and players will we be watching at OT. Arsenal under Graham won things but played the most boring football ever under Wenger although they haven't won anything for ages at least they play entertaining football and are admired across Europe for that, also what's worse our biggest rivals City and Liverpool are now doing the same. Even under the Doc and big Ron when we couldn't win the title we were the most exciting team to watch more so than the great Liverpool sides we just lacked consistency and a winning mentality. Some posters on here like Happyhurling our happy to watch boring unimaginative football as long as it comes across to others like they're behind the REGIME but that doesn't mean the REGIME is best for the CLUB. For me this type of football goes against Man United's religion and history going all the way back to the exciting talented Babes in the 50s even if we are successful with this style of football

tsa_mans_game (Manchester United): skywalker: so you know better than United's scouting system, who we should buy and who not. No doubt based on hours and hours of investigating and reviews of the individuals you've mentioned. Is Cabaye the 1st to the training ground in the morning and the last of at night? What effort does he put in when he trains? Is he a team player and a leader when the going gets tough? Does his style of play fit the gap required? How's he performed this season and where do you get your data / video evidence from? Is he injury prone? This is all before we get to the questions of whether he want to come to United or not? It makes me laugh when people see a player from a single tv game, you tube, MOTD2, etc and they believe they know better than professional scouts who watch these players week in and out and have network of contacts who they can talk to about players in depth. Yes they get it drastically wrong sometimes if someone doesn't do their job right but I'll take their view over a TT poster anyday!

-My Reply - you still have a scouting system?? John, St Austell

So today it is reported by a desperate media that Moyes is gathering scouts from across Europe to get information and determine how best to spend £200m!!!

A point that does not seem to be mentioned in all this scum transfer kitty hype is that - unless they are going to be as incompetent as they were in the summer any deals for this window should already be done or at least significantly progressed.

In todays world - for the top players you have to start your recruitment/negotiations many weeks in advance - it is not like going down the supermarket!!

So I suspect that there are no big deals lined up and therefore if they make any signings they will be panic buys - with them getting royally screwed - love it

Vidic has said he won't sign a contract extension, and wants to move on at the end of the season

What's that about rats and ships sinking?

As has Rooney in an article released about 10 minutes later.

The very fact that two destabilising stories come out with hours to go to a semi final, is shit that happens to all clubs.........except those managed by Ferguson. Whilst the stories themselves are significant, the timing of them is a significant thing to me about the way the media is pushing the agenda against Moyes now, and how they feel they can do so with impunity

Probably get slated for this but assuming we both progress in the tinpot cup, should we let Dave have it? Just to make sure he sticks around for another season? Coz who really gives a fuck about the league cup?

Hasn't he already won silverware for them? The community shield was surely touted as one in August if I remember correctly ...

As for this one ... it won't matter the size of the cup but the opponent they down to take it so NO NEVER ... Fuck him and them and all ... if we get to the final and they too somehow make it past Sunderland ... I want to win it fucking 6-1 at Wembley!

But it's still weaker than the one Ferguson used to put out when resting 11.

He will be hoping that the League cup could be his saving grace this season. Especially if they beat us in the final. That would probably paper over just enough cracks for them.

This has suddenly become a huge game for them.

This could be their best chance to be in Europe next year - win it or lose to us in the final.

I don't think runners up of League Cup also gets to Europa if winner is already in either CL or EL ... it happens of FA Cup yes but not so sure about League Cup.
