It riled me when he blamed the stewards for not being vigilant enough for the United fans letting off the flare..... even though they do it at every single match

I was just surprised he took he tongue out of Zidanuzaj's anus long enough to spot the flare.

Even he gave up on trying to make the game interesting, he just gave up and sounded suicidal.

I loved the shot of Ferguson, Robson and Charlton at the end. But lets not kid ourselves. The rags are feckin rank at the moment and that's thoroughly enjoyable. But Rooney and Van Persie will be back, they will beat Sunderland at home and as the underdogs will have a good chance of nicking it at Wembley, making us look silly if we start crowing too early.

I thought the whole match was full of 'wonderful Giggs, brilliant Janusaj, aren't United fantastic, this record, that record'.

Casual mention that they have lost a game or two but absolutely no mention that they aren't a good side and aren't playing well.

Tonight (if he's on) it's a question of:

1) How many times he mentions that Bayern won at the Etihad
2) At how many minutes or seconds into the match he utters 'Manchester United' or 'the team across the way'
3) How many times (2)

Can he get the word 'Januzaj' into tonight's commentary ? That's what I want to know.

It would seem impossible, during a game between City & West Ham, but if anyone can do it, Martin can.

I would expect plenty of reminders of Wigan beating us last year. Probably references to how many players WHU are missing like the scum were against Sunderland. But constant mention of how bad City's defence is.

Did anyone hear him when he was talking about the potential trophies the Scum could still win "Oh and lets not forget about the Champions League". They were getting beat 1-0 at the time by Sunderland and he's talking as though they have a chance to win that!!!

Dont forget the constant squad cost comparisons Doug - squad costs of course that are never mentioned when Utds "homegrown" lot play in such games.

Apparently they are currently missing academy boys Rooney, Van Persie and Ferdinand.

There'll be some excited yelps when West Ham are on the attack, and also consistent references to our away form for the 2nd leg, and how Dzeko "cant be happy" at all with not being a regular.

The 'homegrown' trick could be his way of getting 'Januzaj' into the commentary.

That's it Ted, that's how he'll do it.

Ironic that "homegrown" United are being urged to spend spend spend by their armchair legions and the media alike. Odd that.

With Ravel Morrison set to play Ill go earlier than that. As the players come out it'll be "ex-Manchester United" player/star etc thatll spill out first.

Either that, or he'll use some kind of Navas comparison (my money is on the use of the weaker foot as a wide player)
