But Rooney and Van Persie will be back, they will beat Sunderland at home and as the underdogs will have a good chance of nicking it at Wembley, making us look silly if we start crowing too early.

I thought the whole match was full of 'wonderful Giggs, brilliant Janusaj, aren't United fantastic, this record, that record'.
Casual mention that they have lost a game or two but absolutely no mention that they aren't a good side and aren't playing well.
Tonight (if he's on) it's a question of:
1) How many times he mentions that Bayern won at the Etihad
2) At how many minutes or seconds into the match he utters 'Manchester United' or 'the team across the way'
3) How many times (2)

Apparently they are currently missing academy boys Rooney, Van Persie and Ferdinand.
There'll be some excuted yelps when West Ham are on the attack, and also consistent references to our away form for the 2nd leg, and how Dzeko "cant be happy" at all with not being a regular.

The 'homegrown' trick could be his way of getting 'Januzaj' into the commentary.
"City have shelled out..etc etc but Utd have gone down the 'homegrown' route, with players such as..."

That's it Ted, that's how he'll do it.
Ironic that "homegrown" United are being urged to spend spend spend by their armchair legions and the media alike. Odd that.
