The French site said Mangala's not very keen on a mid season move although he's happy to go to the Premiership. He's now said to be thinking about it before making a decision. It also says we made the same offer in the close season and we're turned down by Porto but this time might be different. Make of that what you will.

Looked to have what it takes on U tube. But I cant believe Lescott wants to leave when he can name his price in the summer and possibly play in a final or have a league title medal before then.Go to West Ham, live in a hotel all week and probably get relegated?Surely what we need is a mobile, aggressive midfielder who doesn't need to play every game but is better than Javier.

Haven't we already got one in James Milner?

The rumours about us signing Kurt Zouma have gone quiet. He looks like a good prospect, he wouldnt cost too much from st etienne either. I would take a punt on this fella, maybe buy him and send him back to st etienne to continue learning his trade. He is a starter for st etienne now so he has moved his way up the pecking order.

WW, did you watch much local footy when you lived in France? What do/did you make of it and do you keep up with it?

I watched Bordeaux a couple of times but where I lived in the dordogne it is a massive Rugby area. We supported Bordeaux but most of the locals were Marseille fans which was weird? We knew the team and still follow the league and look out for the results. Interestingly we saw Obertan play when we went to watch them Vs Nancy when Lauren Blanc was manager. Me and my lad laughed at how shocking he was, then Utd went and bought him which was even funnier.

My lad played for the local junior team for a couple of years and the coaching he received was poor to say the least. The junior coaching is well behind the UK IMO, I used to attend every training session and match and my lad got fed up with the simplicity of the training and the lack of a challenge it gave him. I was asked if I wanted to take a session or two, but I explained to the coach that my french isnt up to the standard of what I would want to explain and it would be more frustrating than do good for the team.

The coach used to see me giving my lad extra talks and explanations of drill enhancements which he took back to the training field which prompted the coach to ask me....I wish my french was good enough at that time to take it on. It was by the time I left but, thats life :-)

Strange that nobody ever tries Milner in this role.

Probably end up playing for England there when he's 36 & someone like Moyes being hailed as a genius for converting him to centre mid in Fulham's team.

As many know, we have one in James Milner but if the manager doesn't fancy him there, and he clearly doesn't, then we need someone else. To be fair to Pellers I am picturing someone who is more destructive than James and just as mobile. Will get tin hat but Demi looked as if he might be ok there, so much more mobile and forward thinking than Garcia.I'm thinking about someone to get a grip on the top Euro teams and the likes of Arse, Spuds and perhaps Rags away. But maybe the way we are going we will just do it guns blazing and Pellers will be crowned King of the World, as he should be if it works.

Ted, I assume you do mean in the lower leagues as 1: Fulham won't be a Prem club for much longer and 2: Gollum won't be a Prem manager for much longer?

I've been hoping to see Demichelis in that spot, & he did ok, but West Ham had gone by then & Garcia also played well. DeMichelis is better than Garcia defensively though. Away in the Champs Lg is where I see a particular need for such a player, (or at home v Bayern). In the end, I want to see centre mids who can run as well as play. A more defensively solid version of Yaya/Fernandinho would be perfect.

Moyes is a clique manager. They get 3 or 4 chances before being finally put out of their misery. He'll be back.
