That was a fair goal and a great one as well. We need to get back to our A game and stop trying all this long ball shite.

Gouffran was offside and was in the flight of the ball before ducking away. More claim against the goal than originally appeared, but City got away with it.

That was a great call by the linesman , if both Taylor and gouffran had not moved and it went in , fair enough , but they didn't . 3 in offside positions. IF he had not moved it would have hit him in an offside position.

Haven't seen City pass and play as bad as that last 20/25 minutes for ages.Thankful for Vinnie and Demichelis so far but I would be surprised if we don't let a goal in somewhere today. Big job for MP to calm them down and get them playing again and I would start with another player in midfield.

Don't see what the problem is. Tiote shot was straight at a Newcastle player in an offside position who ducked out of the way at the last second. Hart doesn't know whether that last man is offside or whether he'll be given offside if he deflects the ball past him so can't react until its too late. If that last man isn't there Hart has more time to react. ;)

Perhaps, they didn't touch the ball though and Hart didn't seem to have to worry about them so it could easily have been allowed to.

If it would've have been against us I would've been furious.

1 of Negredo/Dzeko off for Milner.

I have said it on more then once, we need to have a few players away from the box when the other team have a corner/freekick, then they would not have had that strike as the Newcastle player would of been somewhere else instead of been free.

So would I, but I think it was Fat Sam who said, "If a player isn't interfering with play, then he shouldn't be on the pitch."

Sorry, the shot would have hit the guy, and would have been offside. But, he dodges out of the way and in so doing interferes and becomes active and is offside.

Agree about the second bit.

Agreed, with the current interpretation of offside. In my opinion, if a player is not making any effort to get back onside from an offside position, then it should be called as offside. In a box situation, although a player may not be 'interfering with play', they can still be a major distraction to the keeper, and put their team at a goalscoring advantage.

I see your point. But I don't think that makes a difference. I think the interpretation of "interfering" means attempting to gain an advantage or attempting to play the all or player.

Actually that's not a bad thought.

He was in the path of the ball so in moving out of the way he did change where the ball would have ended up.

He was interfering with play because he moved out of the way for the ball to go in. Cracking decision by the ref.

Not surprising when you have 50 odd thousand FAT OBESE STINKING geordies screaming at you....I thought we handled it well given the circumstances.

I can't understand why the ball going between two players in an offside pisition, wouldn't be offside. Hart surely has to consider whether either will touch the ball, thus they are interfering with play.

In summary he shouldn't ave been there I the first place, stop complaining.
